I am currently working as a freelance cellist in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. I have been playing and recording with various local Indie artists over the last 3 years. I perform at many well known clubs in SF. I have branched out and taken on new projects with groups that perform in the heavy metal, alternative, goth/industrial rock genres. I was with a group for 10 years that performed all original music...it was a 9 piece group. This group performed on TV, live at locations in SF and at many Corporate events & Festivals at prestigious Vineyards in the Napa/Sonoma Area. I have performed with Smokey Robinson and John Tesh. I have worked at many well known recording studios throughout the Bay Area. I developed and recorded the cello part for an Television Ad that received National play during the Tour de France in 2004. I am currently involved with 2 projects that have provided the opportunity to play in a truly free form fashion with no rules or boundaries...I have been working with an incredible drummer who is very adept at laying down grooves that I jam to...We play off of each other back and forth...If you haven't tried this...I highly recommend it..for opening you up to playig the cello not as a cello but as a device for sound production...If you have a midi console...so much the better...I am at a point in my musical life where I do only what I want to...I have played the game and don't need to do it any more..There are many opportunities for cellists who are trained and have the will and desire to expand their musical toolboxes..The opportunity is there and so is the $$$$$. I enjoy working with people who's Art is unusual or "edgy" . These artists have a sound that is non- traditional and allows me to roam free with the cello serving the music melodically when necessary but let's me shredd or try unusual things. I enjoy being "out there" in space when making music and I am not afraid to "boldly go where no cellist has gone before". I get called for orchestral gigs, recording gigs,live shows, solo gigs weddings,parties...you name it...

I have been working at the cello for 43 years. I have many years of experience in the classical arena playing much of the orchestral repretoire, Opera, Pop and Musical Theater productions of such works as West Side Story, Into the Woods, Guys and Dolls, Fiddler on the roof. I have performed with the SF Lyric Opera, SF Ray of Light Theater, Orchestra of West Marin, Santa Rosa Symphony, Cinnabar Theater, Lake County Symphony and Choral /Orchestral concerts. I worked as contractor in South Lake Tahoe and Reno at the Resort Hotels and performed with such starts as Mel Torme, Jerry Lewis, Johnny Mathis, George Shearing. This was many moons ago....

I am 53 yrs.old, kids grown and on their own...Married to a great woman...am member of a big extended/blended family that works really well...Whew!!. The old saying that with age comes wisdom..is true..there are many things now that I can deal with that in my younger days would have cause me grief..Don't sweat the small stuff, live each day the way you want to live it..you are the driver don't let someone else choose where you go..and appreciate the beauty around you...We have to lead the way in healing this world and making it the kind of place it should be...If we all take responsibility for doing our part....the sum total of our efforts will create what is needed..No, I'm not a fanatic. - Peace-
