Truth OUT

"What we need at home, of course, is people who will change their lives, risk their careers and their jobs, their relationships with their families, their bosses, and their church groups by taking a stronger stand than most people are ready to take; by saying truths that most people are not ready to hear. Without that courage things like this can't be changed. With it, they may still not be changed, they may fail, but without it, and without mass mobilization, there is no chance."
-Daniel Ellsberg

Another World is Possible. Live Free.

"Once unions were against the law but slavery was fine.
Women were denied the vote and children worked the mine.
The more you study history the less you can deny it:
Rotten laws stay on the books till folks with guts defy it!
Have you been to jail for justice? I want to shake your hand...
sitting-in and laying down are ways to take a stand.
Have you sung a song for freedom or marched that picket line?
Have you been to jail for justice? Then youre a friend of mine."
-Anne Feeney in "This is What Democracy Looks Like"-
Post Seattle, WTO, Nov 1999, where "the teamsters and the turtles finally joined forces" for social AND environmental justice, and the Global Justice Movement was born, along with the slogan: Another World is Possible! For the necessary cultural paradigm shift to occur, we must live the world we have imagined, and birth it into being with positive creative solutions for change.

"While we fight for our lives, we must live lives worth fighting for. Live free." (unknown)

Poets Prophets Artists and Musicians

We are the sons of Sorrow; we are the poets
And the prophets and the musicians. We weave
Raiment for the goddess from the threads of
Our hearts, and we fill the hands of the
Angels with the seeds of our inner selves.

>>>>>> { ... } >>>>>>>

We seek company with Truth,
And the hands of Truth have brought down
Knowledge from the Great Heart of the Circle
of Light

We are the sons of Sorrow, and sorrow is a
Rich cloud, showering the multitudes with
Knowledge and Truth.

Sacred Acts of Restoration

Inspiration is not garnered from litanies of what is flawed; it resides
in humanity’s willingness to restore, redress, reform, recover,
reimagine, and reconsider. Healing the wounds of the Earth and its
people does not require saintliness or a political party. It is not a
liberal or conservative activity. It is a sacred act. -- Paul Hawken

For Lovers Of Every Kind

"The plain fact is that the planet does not need more successful people. But it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind. It needs people who live well in their places. It needs people of moral courage willing to join the fight to make the world habitable and humane. And these qualities have little to do with success as our culture has defined it..." (David Orr, Earth in Mind)

Words O Wisdom/Where in the World are We

Got a penny in my pocket
picked it up with a fistful of fire red maple leaves
made me reminisce, of crisp fall New England days,
maple syrup boiling down, and eating mountain apples off the trees.

Got bittersweet blues filling my cup now-
blueberry, blue lotus, a touch of jasmine
make a sensational cordial, for midnite poetry
built on a foundation, years of love lost and found,
a double dose for forward thinking
and never ending nostalgic dreaming.

Oh lucky penny,
give me a sm... read more

I realized I rarely write a poem without one or more of the following:
tea, heart/heartbreak, dance, dreams/dreamtime, fire, the gypsy path/trail, altars/prayers

Here's one thats got 'em all:

why do I swallow
what I cannot digest
it sticks in my chest
like an unhealed heartbreak,
catches in my throat
before the story can become its song

I rove dreamscapes and landscapes
as restless as a dragons eye
as blind as a baby's prayer
crying for what I dont want to feel anymore

Why All This Talk?

Why all this talk of the Beloved,
Music and dancing,

And
Liquid ruby-light we can lift in a cup?

Because it is low tide,
A very low tide in this age
And around most hearts.

We are exquisite coral reefs,
Dying when exposed to strange
Elements.

God is the wine-ocean we crave-
We miss

Flowing in and out of our
Pores.

The Journey:

One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice--
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
"Mend my life!"
each voice cried.
But you didn't stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations,
though their melancholy
was terrible.
It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fal... read more

Landslide, by Fleetwood Mac

This is for you daddy....
I took my love, and I took it down
I Climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
'Till the landslide brought me down
Oh, mirror in the sky
What is love
Can the child within my heart rise above
Can I sail thru the changing ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life
ooh ooh i dont know
ooh ooh ooh ooh
Well, I've been afraid of changing
'Cause I've built my life around you
But ... read more
