Hey,
Just wanted to thank everyone that made Interfuse '07 a great experience. Hope everyone had as much fun as I did.
So, I thought I'd blog a bit about the photo of a hunk of Galena I have set as my main photo. For the schlobs out there who don't know, Galena is the main ore from which lead is extracted.
I had the opportunity in college to go tour a mine in southeastern Missouri from which Galena is extracted. Very awesome. Took an elevator 1000's of feet underground and road in the back of a pickup around the mine. Before we went down there, everyone put on their hardhats and hip waders. Down in ...

So,
I was at a future construction site doing test pits and lo and behold, encountered a glacial erratic about 5 feet down. It's a gorgeous piece of quartzite about 1 foot, by 10 inches by 8 inches. I haven't taken a pic of it yet, but it's sitting in my flower bed in front of my house. I've attached a pic of what quartzite looks like so everyone can admire it.
Also, dads that know how to fix roofs, towel bars, refrigerator handles, and dishwashers within about 3 hours kick total ass.

But I figure that I'm a smart girl...so it should be fine. Now I have to wait to find out whether the owner is making a counter offer. And give him earnest money. and get an inspection. So, for everyone that has said hi over the last week, just wanted to apologize for my non-communication. Last week I put in over 60 hours. It's only Tuesday and I've already put in more than 28...yesterday was a 16 hour killer. Anyone who will volunteer to give me a shoulder massage is more than welcome too....Anyway, had to bitch before heading out to my class tonight. I love leaving for work at 5:30 a.m. and getting home at 10 p.m. Can we all feel the craziness?
