we haven't had a range since may, and the fridge we have been barowing since may freezes the food then warms up really warm then freezes, ugh hate it. it's great for nothing but soda which is what rew's mom used it for, but not for keeping any food. all fresh veg dies immediately and well meat doesn't like the whole freeze thaw thing much either. so finally after weeks of waiting for sear to get their shit together, and having to go get them ourselves. yup sears never did deliver them, idiots. we have our appliances. a lovely freezer on bottom fridge and a lovely ceramic cook top convection double oven. the ceramic cook top is intimidating, i am so scared i'll ruin it, but seems to clean up wonderfully and cooks great. expanding elements and all. and the convection oven? omg, it's wonderful!. haven't used my second bottom oven yet, but i am sure i will. and think how great in the summer to not have to heat the whole oven and the whole house. just one little drawer. and both ovens have cool enough warming settings that i can actually put bread in them to rise. omg i can't wait to bake up a storm. and it is heading into that season already. the fridge has so much room. i keep thinking we'll never fill it. and we can see everything in it and the shelves slide out for easy access even of stuff in the back. plus humidity controlled crisper drawers. it rocks! glad rew loves me cause i am too damn poor to even think of having stuff this nice. really. never thought i would ever have a range or fridge this nice. now if we can only get a tub and shower in the master bath.

i hurt, please send more chocolates and framboise.

i tweaked my darn back again on monday. after three weeks of nursing it back to functioning. and this time i did it right. i mean hurt so bad i couldn't move and was sick to my stomach. yay! days latter i can move a little, but still hurt like hell. i am gonna have to go to the doctor. i made an appointment for early next week. but if in the mean time someone could keep me supplied with chocolates and framboise, i'd be most great full. and meanwhile the house falls apart and nothing gets done. grrrr. stupid back!

lita has gone feral and it is unlikely i will ever get her back. 5 and a half weeks after she ran away it comes from the official she simply does not want to come home. she has been avoiding me and my scent for weeks now and moving further and further away from town and people and out into the country. my little 5 lb bundle of joy is a wild dog now. yet how can i simply give up knowing she is ok and out there?

On May 30th I ran away from my pet sitter dashing off into the south hills. I have been trying to make my way back to 18th st. since then but good intending people keep chasing me. On June 6th I made it as far as 20th st. before being chased again. I have not been spotted since. I have been sited from 28th to 20th st’s. I am very hungry and scared and am most friendly to women. If you happen to see me please do not chase me. I am scared and much faster then you. well i am home from new mexico finally, but lita is not home. my little lost dog is still living in the south hills of eugene somewhere. my doggie sitter got calls non stop while i was away. seems she was slowly working her way down from 28th street as far as 20th street. that was the last reports as of friday the 6th. she was last seen being chased by herds of stupid ass people. um excuse me but please don;t chase the little frightened dog! anyway. my friend and dog sitter lives on 18th and friendly. so if everyone would leave my poor girl alone she is working her way back home. there has been no word at all since friday. which scares me. i am hoping they didn;t scare her so bad she went even further away, or stops trying to come home, or worse! she is tiny and fast and can not be caught. she needs to be coaxed out. and at this point i think she will only come to me. however. if you do see her. call me immediately! or call my friend who lives even closer. be non threatening, talk calmly to her, and stay still. she ight even come to you. especially if you have food. but for heavens sakes, don;t chase her. wish me luck. i will be scares for a while as i will be spending most my waking time trying to be in the right place at the right time to find my baby.

She was last seen heading like a bat out of hell up the south hills in the 28th street area. she is currently cotton candy pink, but is a little black and white mixed breed weighing between 5 and 6 lbs. she has no collar or tags because she chews them off. please call dave at 541-521-2099 or 541-653-8039. he will make sure she finds her way back home to me. it will be a year in october since i discovered my sensitivity to msg. a life time of migraines and unsolved other issues all explained by one simple food additive. msg, given to us in world war 2. it was discovered that japanese food rations tasted much better then any others, the reason? seaweed. and msg was born. it became more prevalent through the 70s blooming in the 80's. and the less people cooked for themselves and relied on boxes and p remade foods, the more it crept into our diets. but it isn't really seaweed anymore. it's a nuro toxin, and a drug. an extraction, or simply a chemical additive. but just seaweed it no longer is. i really struggled in the first months. i was angry, and unaccepting. i struggled trying to convince myself that reeses peanut butter cups were safe because they only had peanut butter and chocolate. i tried to rationalize. after all root bear is made from roots right? but in the end i learned so much. i learned one out of 75 brands of pickles is safe. i learned cottage cheese never is unless i decide to make it myself. i learned that you can buy butter thats only cream, or you can buy butter that has msg. i learned that daisy is the only safe sour cream. and that foods can truly taste great. i also learned that i am in fact a fabulous cook, and can make almost anything from scratch. mmm, pasta salad to die for, tartar sauce spawned by menstrual cravings for fish and chips. if i want to eat it i have to make it. cheese cake, carrot cake, snickerdoodles, macaroons, cookies galore, hot coco, truffles, fried chicken. heavenly dips and salad dressings, alfrado sauce oh the gods, the world tastes so much better when it doesn't come out of a can or a box. can you tell i am a taurus? lol despite what friends and those around me who have watched my size dwindle think, i do not starve myself. on the contrary! i eat more and better then ever. ya it can be a pain, some times i feel lazy and would much rather stop and get a fast food burger, but thats not a choice for me. and it is so worth it. i may not eat out with friends, and i often have to plan to eat before or after hanging out. but the foods i eat at home make up for it. late morning breakfasts of pancakes or fried toast with real maple syrup and real butter. blt's with avocados and the tastiest mayo and good bread toasted on the griddle. strogonoff, taquitos, burritos, nachos, chicken fried steak, baked salmon, melt in your mouth chicken, roast, biscuits and gravy. i love food and now it doesn't make me ill. as i am packing for our trip i am once again going through my closet. since last october i have gone from a size 13 to a size 3. i have lost ten sizes and more weight then i care to actually mention. and the only ting i have done is stop eating msg. but the best part is how i feel. i don't hurt all the time. i don't feel ran down, tired and depressed. i don't suffer from all the mystery ailments that there seemed no cause for. i feel like me again.

break through

finally had a break through on a project thats been three years in the makeing. i was finally able to see kwan yin the way i wanted her, and have whipped out the sketch for her over the night. with only a few minor adjustments. i'm always pleased when i don't have to erase a bazillion times. she is as heavenly and peaceful as she should be, and when done should be stunning next to green tara. she was supposed to be a november birthday present for my hunny, two or three years back. and though i had the concept concrete in my head, never could get worked out the compromise between traditional style and modern me style that i wanted. so she has sat in waiting this whole time to finally come out. it seems she was finally ready. so now i just have to run out and get me some transfer paper to transfer the sketch to my canvas. (thank goodness for wallys 24 7. art never happens in respectable hours) then i'll be ready to rock and roll. i can get her laid out and finished up (my sketch paper wasn't big enough to get her legs on, lol. but hey face and hands were the important part) and get her dragon laid in under her. tidy up with the waves and decide on fish or no fish and what ever else i might want to add in. pearl and such you know. then i can paint her. that i doubt will happen this waking cycle though. unless i decide to pull an all dayer.

so updates, in case you didn't know i did not get the bra top done in time alas, i was very unhappy. i was so disgusted with it after staying up till 5:30 am fighting to get both the cups in the same darn spot i finally had to conceded the victory to it. i have gotten the cups not only tacked in but stitched most of the way around on each side. which means some day when my fingers are healed it will in fact be finished and ready for her to go bead. this all brings it to a total of over 100 hours now. of course this includes the seam ripping time taking apart the original two skirts, all the darn time plotting out how i was going to put them together, and all the whip stitching things in place to see if they worked then often taking them back out and trying again. costume designing is way more time consuming for me then following a pattern. and it doesn't help that i am so anal and ocd and that i am in capable of doing a shitty half assed job, especially for someone else. i got pictures up of the top, up to this point or close enough, and of her in her skirt. i should have more coming of her performing in it and her back up top.

the skirt is done!

32 hours this week alone and i have finally finished the skirt. she is totally hemmed and finished. my fingers are literally bleeding but she is done! i still have a ton of work to get the bra top completed and only two days left. i have to have it in her hands in time to dance friday night. and that will all be hand stitching. here are a bunch of photos of the skirt all done. now remember that this was designed for someone with more hips and booty than me. my body really doesn't do the skirt justice. i will be getting pictures of her in it as soon as i can. http://www.flickr.com/photos/morae/ this project started out when rachel came to me with two skirts of completely different weight, cut and flow and asked me to first combine them and make one skirt, then to expand and make her a whole costume out of them. you can see i had to get fairly creative to get the two fabrics to work together and flow properly. over all i am very pleased with the result. the lavender fabric is much much lighter weight then the egg plant. and the deep purple inserts are actually the reverse side of the egg plant. the inserts not only add flair but even out the weight around the skirt as well.

costume melt down

i worked on rachels costume for 14 and a half hours straight yesterday, ugh. yup i only stopped long enough to pee, then it was back to sewing i went. i even ate while i sewed. i have been steaming and ironing it all day today getting the skirt ready to hem. i will be so glad when it's done and that i can send it off with her to dance at medge on friday. by the time i'm through i wont ever want to see it again, lol. i can't even count how many hours i have into it at this point. all the seams are triple stitched and edged to prevent fraying, and the thing has tons of hand stitching in it as well, in the skirt the hand stitching is to ensure proper flow and for it to lay right. the bra top, well will be all hand stitched, except were i have edged the fabric on the machine to assure no fraying. no one can accuse me of under construction. and this damn fabric wrinkles if you look at it. i don't know how she will keep it looking decent. i mean if she wears it to any shows it will wrinkle before she ever gets there. and heaven for bid she carries it in, it will be a wrinkly mess. oh well can you say crinkle effect? at least the skirt can be ironed with a real low heat and no steam, not sure what she will do with the bra. sigh. maybe it can in time be covered in enough beads that no one will ever know how wrinkly it is. i will post tons of pictures of it when i get it finished. or at least thats the plan.
