I'm heading down to Prunedale to stay with Rich's mom, my gracious hostess while I spend next week attending teacher training at a high school in Salinas. I don't want to tie up the Medley phone lines using dial-up and I can't count on having access to a wireless network on a school campus, so I'll be "out of range" until I return home next weekend. I'll miss checking in with you, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for good news to read upon my return.

I have a new pet peeve. Today Rich & I drove my son Ryan up to San Francisco for a seminar and I was able to experience the Peninsula commute in its full glory. 'Tis not a pretty sight. There is definitely something strange going on in the universe right now, or at least in our little corner. Too many wonderful people are in too much pain right now. Sometimes I get fired up at the injustices around me and ride off into battle. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by it all and want to curl up with a purring kitty, a good book and a cup of hot cocoa. Sometimes I give in to the despair and cry my eyes out (definitely NOT Rich's favorite time to deal with me!).
