We have a big rambling house - 3 apartment units of space, two that are shared commonly, kitchens, yoga space, eating space... we have a community kitchen where we store common foods and food bought collectively from local farms csa programs. we have a barn, garden spa... read more

Every morning I am sent by a friend in Maine, a thought for the day. This prayer and poem seems to be telling for our times, and speaking thoughts from the future.


The eyes of the future are looking back at us and
they are praying for us to see beyond our own time.

i walked out of my house last week and was struck by the redness of a tree. its leaves were the color of blood first beginning to clot. a crimson touched with oxygen. as if the tree itself was bleeding to death in thinking of the shards that winter would bring.

the sky, in contrast, was the bright blue of a star system's eyes. intense and inspiring. a sharpness to flounder in front of; shining with searing brightness.
