Thoughts of Me

Jah gives me strength...

Jah Rastafari guide and protect InI...
I look up to the sky and praise Rastafari...
I know no other way to live, and Jah is great.
If there were no faith in my life, I do not think that I would be where I am today.
30 days ago now, I went off the pain medication that I was on for 2 and a half years straight. Babylon System had clouded my brain and body, and made me believe that I needed these things to survive in life. I look back on this and wonder what I was thinking. I also think to how many others have been and are being blinded by this kind of "treatment"..
I could not have done this if it weren't for my wonderful husband and my faith in Jah...
We must watch and stay aware of de Babylon System. It will creep up on us if we are not careful and wise in the ways of our lives.
Jah Rastafari guides and protects InI...
I hope He will guide and protect all my dear friends too...
One love...Nuff' Raspect...

Jamaica, Jamaica....

Well, we just returned from Jamaica....
What an awesome learning experience....I do believe that everyone should experience a third world country for themselves once in their lives. I didn't know that Jamaica was how it is. Violence, poverty, anger, and governmental control reign supreme, and yet, at the same time, there is more love from the people than I have seen anywhere! The Jamaican people give and give even if they have nothing to give....and all this to two complete strangers from America.
We were also fortuneate enough to go to BoBo Hill...a community of Rasta in the hills of Jamaica...and we got to worship with them and hear them read the daily Pslams...after we worshiped, we recieved blessings and were able to reason with the Ras priests and the Empress....What an experience!!!
Jamaica is definately not a place to be viewed from the "protection" of a resort..which is what the Jamaican government wants you to see as a foreigner...You need to see the real Jamaica to appreciate the people and the culture...and to help...the next time we go back, it will be on a mission....not vacation....to give you some idea...
School is not free...you have to pay for it, and most prople live below what we would consider poverty level. Hospitals have people sick and dying with cockroaches crawling on them and no pain meds or anything to help them. The police carry M-16s and shotguns and it takes 20 of them to pull one Ras of the street for some reason....The majority of people live in the ghetto and are lucky to have water and electricity...much less jobs and medicine for illness...or education. All this and the current Jamaican government is "Not changing no course!!" Elections are coming up and the sides get guns out to the people so that they can "decrease" the votes for the opposing side....
I am not badmouthing Jamaica, mind you...I simply feel that people need to know how it is there...and not be blinded by the Babylon System's idea of what Americans should and should not see when they visit the country.
Jamaica need a change, and it starts with those of us that are more fortuneate being able to help and spread the word...the people there deserve better, and it has to happen....
Jah bless Jamaica!
Respect and One Love to all who read this....

Jamaica

So we are going to Jamaica finally! 14 beautiful bliss filled days in Jamaica with our dear friend Moran!!! Staying in the Blue Mountains, learning from many Ras, meeting people that will be dear to us for the rest of our lives....
I think that this trip is going to be life changing. Jah is strong in our hearts and we have been living as true Ras....
And I feel that there is still so much to learn...there always will be...
Ras is in our hearts...it is in our souls...it is our being...
And we ask every day for Jah to guide and bless every one of us....friend or foe, near or far...
Respect!

Viva Puerto Rico!

So we just returned from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico...I don't think that words can describe the beauty of this island. They're simply aren't any....That Jah created something like this...I never would have guessed that someplace like this existed! We put 1500 miles on our rental car driving around the island seeing all of the things there were to see! All I can say is check out my profile and look at my new pics.....

New Life

I've been contemplating the birth of my soul sister's son for the last few days....Born on Tuesday, happy and healthy little guy...What an absolute miracle to be able to create this little life! The Most High Jah does bless us in so many ways they are too numerous to count, and I do believe that this is one of His grandest blessings that we are allowed to witness....

Ex-Smoker

Wow....So I've gone and done it...this will be my 2nd day without a cigarette! It's amazing the things your body will become accustomed to over the course of years...such as reaching for a pack of cigarettes and realizing that hey goofy...they aren't there anymore!!! It's actually not so bad...there is much support all around me....and I can visualize a life of not smoking!!! YAY!!!

Vampire Kisses at Leland City Club

Some nights vampire blood is ment to be spilled....all over the floor, me, Anita, and places where normally dry people plant their butts to sit....for those who don't know what a vampire kiss is, it is a house concoction of 2 different kinds of rum, a splash of 7-up, and grenadine...2 drinks out of one, and a sip out of the other and they both went flying!!! Oh woe to the rum drinks, for I am apparently not ment to drink them! The dancing and Jack and Cokes however were fabulous!!! :-)>

Rasta Heart

So I've been doing a lot of thinking about the type of person I was before my hubby and I learned about the Rastafarian religion. We met a wonderful and dear friend from Kingston, Jamaica that we work with about a year ago, and he took us under his wing and started teaching us. The ways that we have changed and the ways that we now look at the world are amazing! Instead of closing our eyes to all of the ignorance out there, we can now look at it with open minds and discuss what can or cannot be done about it....our thoughts on life have changed....our music has changed...even the way we talk has changed! There is much happiness in our lives now, and we have Moran to thank for lifting the veil off of our eyes and Jah to thank for always being there! Rastafari respect!
