<div>i have alot of dr. appointments to take my mother in law to. got to get the old house ready to sell. lots of things to do and then a little vacation at the begining of may and a big one in june. so i don't want to take a full time permenant job and then say "oh, by the way, i'll be gone blah blah blah..."

but i still want something to keep kinda busy with. i went and signed up at a temp agency. so far i have helped to cater several events....everyone else orking there is soooo young, in their twenties. of course i can't let them outwork me. i come home completely exaughsted. i haven't done that kind of work in seventeen years, when i owned my own business. the kids worked pretty hard, but there are always some people who really don't want to work. they irritate the heck out of me. i would rather be busy and have the time pass more quickly.

they also sent me out to usher a couple of events. that is very easy work. i ushered the barbershop quartet show twice....amusing enough the first time. and romeo and julliet once. a university production. hmmmm......not sure what they were going for.

today i am sitting in an office. i have already typed up all the proposals they wanted me to do and faxed them out. now i just have to answer phones. boring. there is only so much sitting and tribing that i can stand to do. maybe i will go through my friends list and pm everyone. i haven't had time to do that in a while. or i could go around and be the testemonial fairy for strangers. that is always fun. yawn.</div>

    </a>
<div> Among the animal zodiac, Dog individuals are the most humanitarian. To the Chinese, Dogs represent justice and equality. These are the givers in life, prepared to sacrifice their own dreams, ambitions and desires for the sake of others, particularly for those they love. Fiercely loyal to those they love, Dogs are ever ready to jump to the defense of any member of their family or friends who is being attacked by either word or deed. They have a penchant for championing the underdog. Born with an innate sense of decency and a need for equalibrium in a chaotic world, Dogs strongly denounce injustice and wrongdoing, generously giving useful and effective advice to those around them. Their warmth, empathy and genuine interest in others win them many close friendships. Dogs inspire confidence in others, and the confidence is justified. They will always do their utmost for others, and their dedication can go to the point of sacrifice. Dog people deserve to be held in the highest esteem.
The Dog makes a faithful, honest and courageous friend, and has a deep sense of justice. These people tend to be both magnanimous and prosperous, yet they can also be dogged, guarded, and defensive. Because they genuinely feel they know best, they can sometimes appear bossy. They accomplish goals quickly, their successes the result of hard work and intelligence. But the Dog never really relaxes. Despite appearing calm and at rest, his heart and mind are always jumping.
The Dog is an introvert who rarely shows his feelings; when he does it's only because he thinks it is absolutely necessary. He's stubborn in the extreme and knows what he wants. Frequently cynical, he is feared for his sharp tongue and his acid and disagreeable remarks. He gives the impression of looking systematically for faults in everything he touches. This is because he is the world's biggest pessimist and expects nothing out of life. He prefers to live an impeccable life, a life filled with principles and dignity, always willing to be a crusader for a noble ideology.
With their forthright honesty and true moral integrity they soon become pillars of society, respected for their views and trusted by all who come to know them. Because they have the knack of gaining backing from important people, their careers are often brilliant. In general, they are better followers than leaders and perform outstandingly in team situations. The Dog makes a good soldier. He possesses excellent instincts and is willing to work hard to achieve success. Responsible and reliable, he inspires confidence in others by being trustworthy and keeping secrets when necessary. Dogs find it difficult to adapt to change, though, perhaps because they have a reputation for being innately pessimistic and expect the worst to happen. They have a tendency to become wistful and nostalgic about the past. Of all the animals in the Chinese Zodiac, Dogs are the least materialistic for they are unselfish individuals who care more about people than they do about money or success. It doesn't worry them to be without the material comforts. Even if they are in the money, their tastes are simple enough. But if by any chance they should suddenly and urgently need money, nobody is better equipped than them to get it!
The loyal Dog makes a splendid captain of industry, an active trade union leader, a priest, or an educator. but whatever his career, it will have in him a spokesman whose ideas will be profound and often original. Nations would do well to follow such champions, for under no other sign do we find united in the same person such uprightness, rectitude and passion for work allied to so little personal ambition.
The three phases of the life of the Dog are all marred by uncertainty: anxious childhood, difficult youth, middle-age defeatist before the work is to be done, and an old-age full of regrets for not having done enough.
It is said that a Dog born in daytime will be calmer and less anxious than one born during the night. It is at night that the dog's job is to guard the house -- and thus he will be eternally on the lookout, always on the alert, barking all the time to scare away intruders and finding no time to rest. For people born at night under this sign, it's a dog's life!

The Loving Dog
Though Dogs have a reputation for not easily entrusting their affections, when they do, those friendships are for life. Romantically, Dogs gives the impression of being cold fish but this appearance is misleading; it's just that they're anxious and doubt their own feelings as they do those of others. In fact, personal relationships for the Dog are the most essential and important components of his life; money, power, success -- all the elements that might motivate members of other signs -- simply don't mean a thing to Dogs without first having a loving partner by their side and a stable family and home life. Some born under this influence may encounter difficulties in finding a life-long mate primarily because of the importance they attach to their relationships, but also because of anxiety related to mistrust of people they don't know. In love, the most salient characteristic of Dogs is their loyalty. The Dog is usually selective in the beginning stage of dating. Once these people have pledged their allegiance or sworn their marriage vows, they will stick to their partners through thick and thin. One born in the year of the Dog tends to marry early.
The Dog can be happy with the Horse who will let him get on with his causes in exchange for a little independence. With the Tiger, life becomes a battle -- the two of them against the rest of the world. United, they will adventure together in the name of truth and justice. The Dog can find happiness with the good-hearted Boar. But it is with the placid and serene Rabbit that the Dog has the biggest chance of finding peace and quiet if he wants it. The Dog also likes the Snake, but he is in frequent conflict with the Dragon, who is too proud to accept the Dog's caustic comments and critical approach. As for the Ram, the Dog has no time for her whims, selfishness, or superficiality and they have little in common.
November is the month of the Dog. The time of the Dog is from 7:00 p.m. to 8:59 p.m.; their direction of orientation is west-northwest. The Dog's color is light yellow.

<div>we had an ice storm last monday and have been without electric power since late monday night. finally today, friday i waited in line for a couple hours to buy a generator. they told us the electric wouldn't be on for seven to ten more days, the mother in law won't evacuate.....age related dementia, alzhiemer's, general stubborness..... and though the house has stayed above fifty so far, it is supposed to get down to eleven degrees tonight. and more snow followed by more ice is on it's way.

following my theory that men love to help me and do little tasks for me, i got....err...allowed some guy that was in line with me to schlep the generator home in his truck and set it up for me and explain it to me. and now the pellet stove is going full blast, the whole house temp. is up two degrees, the dogs and cats are happily sleeping in front ot the stove where it is HOT.

there are still over ten thousand households in our county without power. i am praying for those who do not have the time or money for a generator. for those all over the country who are suffering with the weather and unable to find comfort. please join me.</div>

<div>came home miserable. then i found a package from someone! (i won't say who, but her initials are barbary blue tounge.) the mother in law immedeatly claimed the plaque, is carrying it around in the basket on her walker, takes it out and looks at it about every five minutes and smiles in satisfaction. every once in a while she says " now who sent this to me?" or "isn't this nice? a FRIEND of mine sent it to me in the mail!" however i manged to get the rest of the stuff while she was distracted. so i ate a bunch of pepermint chocolate cookies and took a nap. now i feel much better. thanks honey!!</div>

<div>i got my phone line fixed so i had net back yesterday. the phone guy was a real flirt..to bad bren-dh or fang weren't here to take advantage of that. i did let him explain how to hook up my new dsl/wireless router, even though i already had it figured out, because men like to be helpful. so he went away happy. the best thing was that i didn't have to pay for it because the problem was on their side.

so, today i hooked up my dsl and got it registered. rene' bought me a new laptop last week, so i am set for life. i may never get off the couch again!</div>

<div>last thursday i was running the dogs up at the university as usual. i usually run them between 11pm and 12 am. i was going down a short flight of poorly lit stairs that i have gone down a hundred times when suddenly one of the stairs wasn't there. it had crumbled away and the university hadn't seen fit to spend the money to post a notice or rope it off. luckily i was holding onto the rail. i twisted pu my knees, ankles, back and elbow/wrist, but at least didn't take the quick way down. scraped up my ankle and shin a little. i have been out of it to some degree since then. luckily nothing is broken, but i have missed out on life things and tribe things. sorry to my friends if i have missed some importatnt event in your life. i'll try to catch up now that i am feeling a little less pain.</div>

the lud pupkin story.
shortly after world war two-the big one- an amazing phenomena took the pro bowling world by storm. that bowler was lud pupkin, possibly the greatest bowler of all time. unfortunately, we will never know for sure. from a long line of great italian and polish bowling families, lud grew up in the ally's of pensylvania. he was the nephew of famous twin dwarf pin setters edward and edwin pupkin. known in competitive circles as ed&amp;ed.

in only his second season on the pro bowling circuit, in which he won eight of ten tournaments, six of them with perfect 900 series, lud quit the competitive bowling life in protest of automated pin setters. this caused him great personal hardship. he lost his lucrative pro bowling endorsement deals. his wife, dolores (not her real name, but she thought she looked like dolores del rio and put on airs), accustomed to the bright lights and flashy living of the pro bowling world, left him almost immediately. luckily, there were no children involved. lud was later to say that he felt he had no choice but to support the livlihood of his uncles and so many other pin setters like them. he had no regrets. he dropped from the eyes of the public for nearly thirty years.

in the early 1980's lud was spotted at a bowling alley in a small midwestern city. he sood out from the crowd, doing fancy trick shots, picking up splits, and making strikes and spares in a way that seemed supernatural. his uncles had gone on to the Lord's bowling alley(where He makes thunder) and lud had returned to his first love. gradually, folks around the alley came to know lud's story, lud himself and his constant companion, trixie schwartzendruber. (you know her, she's that widow, has the beauty salon down on laramie street. she looks real flashy, with them tight stretch pants and big hair, but really she's not. now her sister, trudy, the big gal that plays stand up base for the all girl polka band? whoo she's the wild one. been married seven times to five men. and her so plain and all. you go down to the legion hall on second saturday. that's when they play there-umpah sue and the upmahettes. she's nigh on six feet two inches and strong enough to pull a plow, but she has a full set of teeth, and she gets to twirlin' that stand up base-hoooeeee! them men gather round her like she was one of them little china dolls. like dogs to a dead fish if you ask me, which i know you didn't, so just hush.) as more and more good folk came to know lud's story, it was decided to do something to honor this fine human being and great bowler. that seed of an idea germinated into the LUD PUPKIN MEMORIAL BOWLING GARDENS, the only clothing optional memorial bowling gardens in the state of kansas.
love offerings and tributes began pouring in to the coffers from all around the country, italy, poland and the areas of checoslovakia and the ukrain of the former soviet union. all the great bowling regions wanted to be represented. in addition, many cabbage roll and bierochs fund raising dinners were held, until finally enough had been raised to buy a small plot of land to establish the gardens.

unfortunately, in the year 2002, the local oficials decreed that this plot of ground was better used for a kohl's department store. lud had passed on the previous year and so was spared the heartbreak. for a while, it appeared that the dream was lost. then, after much scrambling and just under the wire, a new location was found in august of 2005. we are currently working on the hardscape, handicapped accessability, and installing the plants that we managed to save from th old location. for those of you who know and love the gardens of the past, yes, we did manage to save the charisma magnolia tree, the outre` clematis, and the linda louise iris beds. unfortunately, we lost the acapella hawthorne and the opus pear. we hope to be up and open to the public in the late spring of 2007. watch for our adds in the local penny saver. thank you for your time and consideration. please pick up all litter as you leave.</div>

<div>yesterday at work a line from this slightly pornographic song came into my head. i knew we had it, but couldn't remember who by. when rene' came home i sang it for him and he knew right a way where to find it. he's like that. can't remember which shelf the milk goes on to save himself, but knows every song and who wrote it and who performed it and what label etc. hey, i hijacked my own blog. the artist is a woman named sarah kernochan, the album came out in 1974 on rca and is called beat around the bush. the song is called can i get on top this time. if you are easily offended please do not read this.

can i get on top this time
can i get on top this time
it would be so divine to come up for air
and stare at your rock 'n roll poster
from your creaky four poster
close my eyes cut me loose and sail

my name is lady love at last
and a pirate has me chained to the mast
his name is mad dog ives
and i'm frightened by his thighs
he'd like to cut my dress with his cutlass
and thoroughly dishonor my distress
his face a cruel mask he grows bolder
as he strains me against his powerful shoulder
his mates all cry so it's a dirty girl
tell the world she loves it
don't you know she wants more, what a whore
this lady love a long one
show the lady how it's done
long john big enough
can't you see she likes it rough
give her hair a yank
make her walk the plank
no no i won't go you can't make me go no no oh oh oh

you'll never guess where i've just been
and you'll never know

thats the song. if it offened you, you should not have read it. you were warned. suzanne</div>
