I just realized that I don't ever ask any of my Bellydance friends on Tribe how they are doing. How are you guys? What's been going on in you Bellydance lives? Any journeys/adventures? Learn something or meet anyone new? I'd love to hear from ya!

The month of June has been interesting. In terms of Bellydancing, I've had some good opportunities. I substituted for my friend's BD class and I got called in to dance again twice however I was only able to go in once. That makes 4 times that I have been called by fellow dancers to dance at a restaurant I don't even work for (I've made it 3 out the 4 times). Yesterday while at work, I got a call (& text) from one of my bellydancing/troupe friends who also works at the restaurant where I auditioned (earlier in the year) and tells me that the dancer currently there was sick and asked if I could fill in for her. The answer is a definite yes since I could at least get some tips and I would get to work in a restaurant settin... read more

Earlier in the month I went and had my 1st bellydance audition at the local Moroccan restaurant. This is the restaurant where I met my 2nd bellydance instructor (and troupe leader) so the place is kind of near and dear to my heart as it indirectly advanced my young bellydance career and the food ain't that bad either. Last night Mei'attah Raqs (my troupe) was apart of a showcase of bellydancers here in Savannah. I was excited to see so many bellydancers from the area; I had always thought that my troupe were the only bellydancing troupe around. I'm glad that I was wrong. I was excited to see other dancers and dancing styles. I got a couple of good comments from the other dancers and the audience. I'm just glad to know that all my work isn't going to waste.
