Quote of the Day
(blog entry)
"Somewhere a True Believer is training to kill you. He is training with minimal food or water, in austere conditions, training day and night. The only thing clean on him is his weapon and he made his web gear. He doesn't worry about what workout t...

Just in case you don't know what it exactly it is I am doing here, I will tell you. You might think it is battling terrorists overseas, so we won't be fighting them at home. That could not be farther from the truth. I work at a school for children...

So its been awhile since I have been able to write. We are almost finished with our training, which we have been doing over the past month. It has been a cookie cutter style training, every unit no matter their mission does the same thing. Not th...

The only thing clean on him is his weapon and he made his web gear. He doesn't worry about what workout to do - his ruck weighs what it weighs, his runs end when the enemy stops chasing him. This True Believer is not concerned about 'how hard it is;' he knows either he wins or dies. He doesn't go home at 17:00, he is home.He knows only The Cause. Still ...

Just in case you don't know what it exactly it is I am doing here, I will tell you. You might think it is battling terrorists overseas, so we won't be fighting them at home. That could not be farther from the truth. I work at a school for children that have been detained. Now before everyone goes all bleeding heart on me, let me tell you that many of them have killed Americans. Others were probably in the wrong place at the wrong time. Which reminds me of the story of the kid that was in a wh...

So its been awhile since I have been able to write. We are almost finished with our training, which we have been doing over the past month. It has been a cookie cutter style training, every unit no matter their mission does the same thing. Not that I am here to bitch, but what are blogs for. So here goes.
My time here has been almost a complete waste of time, I say almost because any kind of practice is worth something. We have been "checking the box" ever since we got here. We started of...

Orion is the guy that will put a smile on your face with just a look. For example we'll be playing cards and i'll glance over at him and he'll look at me like I just Gaze raped him or something. Then I'll say, "What?" He'll say "I don't know dude you tel me you been looking intently into my eyes all night." Thats how Orion is, He'll bust your balls and thats Ok because I'll dish it right back. The funny thing about that is that when we were younger and playing Magic I was a little pushover and thought he was a bit of a bully. When we started hanging out again when he was on leave, I had really changed and come into my own. Now I see him as a brother and friend that will always be there when you need him. Since I don't take shit from anyone anymore unless it is called for of course, because truth be told I busted his balls the first day I saw him in my chair at my apartment. He thought we were gonna fight, thats funny. Orion is also the first to start a new catch phrase, simply because he says it all the time. For instance "Baby batter splater." Yeah folks if you've heard that one, that one was mine. All me I tell you!! SAM

Orion has been in my life for a very long time. Over the years, we’ve been acquaintances, enemies, rivals, teammates, friends, and brothers. He boasts an agile mind and a keen sense of humor. He wields a great and quiet power and keeps a cool head. Pieces of him flicker in the building blocks of my own identity. Standing with him has always been an honor and I’ll fight and die in his defense. He has done as much for me.
