I am here

I am here to show people that poverty is real. Homelessness is real and is not just in other countries, but right here on our streets.

True, a lot of them we CAN'T help, but we can help the shelters that try to help them. They need resources like money for food, electricity, toilet paper, laundry detergent, soap, cleaning supplies, etc.

The ones we can help are the children's and women's shelters, men's shelters--shelters that are productive in helping people get back in their feet.

You never know, a hurricane may make you homeless, or you may not be able to afford rent, or maybe your family just wants nothing to do with you-- all three happened to me.

So check out the facts about American Homelessness and don't just sit there and think that someone else is handling it because maybe that someone else is thinking you are helping and may not do their part either.

America, your citizens, your children, are dying on the streets and if you just read this and it doesn't touch you or challenge you to donate even $5.00 to a shelter, then there is seriously something wrong with you.

Blogcharm really hasn’t fulfilled its promise on paying me so definetly Colors of Ink will be moving. I have a friend with Nutang.com, a revenue sharing site and I will soon be moving over there as soon as he can send me an invite. I want not just any blog, but a blog that will pay me to post so I can use that money to better help homeless shelters. I am broke, living in a dorm, and almost near homeless myself, but if I can get with a blog that pays, then I will be better able to help. Of course, when I am fully on my feet I will also donate art to shelters and money from sales to shelters as well.   Included in the new Colors of Ink will be links to homeless sites, a weekly-not monthly—homeless shelter spotlight, more of my art but more posts on help for the homeless because there are a lot of homeless people out there who have access to the web and I would like for Colors of Ink to be a great resource for them.  I would like for Colors of Ink to not only have links to national homeless organizations, but local ones as well. So I will include a shoutbox where shelters, people, and anyone else can include links and of course you will be able to leave comments, but my friend has been having trouble with the nutang comments. It seems that you have to be a member to comment, but I will make commenting very accessable to my loyal readers by installing a bravenet.com guestbook. I will also have more up to date info on homelessness including the 2007 poverty level, new statistics for homelessness, and ways to help.   I just want to thank all of you for commenting, exchanging links, and  being supportive of Colors of Ink and my goal to create Art for the Homeless—using my art to help shelters all across America because as citizens, we really should take care of our country and how can America be the land of the free when people are dying on her streets daily?   This is not my last post and I will keep you informed on when my new Colors of Ink will be active. I will also have a link for the old Colors of Ink on my website. I will not delete this blog  due to the fact that I have a year’s worth of posts and other information that someone may be interested in. I will also have a link to the old blog among the links to the newer ones.

I will be a telemarketer--trying to sell yall some newspapers so be nice LOL. I get an hourly pay plus commission so I am not just dependant on commission like most telemarketing jobs. I figure I can save around $1000 within two to three months! YAY!

For about a month I have been feeling weak, dizzy, and having severe migraines. Then 3 weeks ago I go to the Job Corps doctor and have a blood test done. She says that my blood sugar is 52 but I am not hypoglycemic since I have none of the symptoms. Now, I still have the headaches, but also have a sore throat, spitting up green and yellow junk and all they say is that I have a sinus infection.   I did my own research on hypoglycemia and my mom who is diabetic says that 52 is not normal, but the doc just told me today that it is normal and that there are different measuring scales for normal blood sugar. So she is NOT going to give me any meds--except amox, musinex, and some blood pressure pills that are supposed to prevent migraines--but my  blood pressure is NORMAL....   I can't wait to get to a real doctor but since I am still in the program, I will be terminated if I go on my own to another doctor. So I just gotta make the best of it.
