I first met Angie during the summer of 1983 at the "Mountain Aire" concert in Calaveras County, Ca. It was a bright, warm, sunny afternoon show that featured Night Ranger, Men At Work, The Stray Cats and headlined Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers....a great show. As I made my way down closer to the stage just after Tom Petty came on, I noticed something being tossed around the top of the crowd. At first I thought it was a beach ball but as it came closer to the section I was in I noticed that it wasn't a beach ball but a person! It was Angie! As she was passed over the crowd I could see the huge smile on her face. She had a joint in one hand and a Corona in the other.
The weird thing was that she was yelling "I Love Jason!" and "When does Jason come on?".....but, when I saw her "Jason Mraz" shirt I realized what she was talking about. Just as fast as she was passed over our section she had disappeared......
.....in what seemed like just a few days, 21 years had gone by. I was at the Wildhorse Campground in September of 2004 to enjoy the DMB weekend at the Gorge when up walks Angie. She extended her hand to shake mine and says to me "hi, i'm Angie from the Warehouse. you're D.J., right?". I said "yes, my name is D.J.". She then says to me "yeah, i remember you from that Jason Mraz show back in 1983!". I was honored that she had remembered me and now honored again for adding me to her tribe.
Thanks Angie!
