about me
What can I say? I'm a laid-back cynic with a strongly developed imagination who thinks that the world must be awfully boring for those who aren't geeks about something.
I enjoy reading, writing, watching TV, going to movies, going to concerts, going to bars, and listening to music (but who doesn't?), comparing tattoos, chasing rabbits, eating babies, and generally making myself a nuisance.
Done with blackbirds, moving on to mixed songbirds by next month. Boy, what I wouldn't give for some stability!

In January I will be heading south once more, this time to observe rusty blackbirds.
I really like fieldwork but I'm getting to a point in my life where I'd like some stability, too. I just wish I could settle somewhere, get my life (and my debts!) straightened out.

I went back to Ohio but my city was gone.

slowly swirled past like the wind through the trees.
Hey, ho, where’d you go, Ohio?
I went...

So on Tuesday I'm going to have an interview for a job in Florida.
It would be nice if I could stick to one region of the country while I'm chasing birds everywhere. I'm really racking up the miles on my little Jeep.

One of the most difficult things about being in Texas is leaving all of my friends behind. I had just begun to get involved in the Ohio bellydance community, and there are several people there that I wish I'd been able to get better acquainted with: Jenn, Margarita, and Jae especially. Now that I am in Houston, which has a very active dance community of its own (not to mention a large and very active MIddle Eastern community!) I feel both out of the loop and very lonely when I try to go to ...

"Great lessons"
I took lessons with this studio and I really enjoyed them, and would recommend them to anyone. The only reason why I stopped was because the lessons unfortunately didn't work with my schedule. Nice intimate studio space, as well. :)
