I have lived in a Costa Rican rain forest for a conservation project (hammock in tree style), almost been bitten by a fer-de-lance, stood on a nest of army ants, swung from a vine, seen endangered species, taken a photo with a taper, stalked a jaguar, climbed a volcano, swam with salt water crocs (accident), survived a hurricane without shelter, had a machete put to my neck, been stripped searched in an airport with 3 machine guns pointed at me (in Central America), but had the best time doing it. I saw the most amazing things, and would give anything to do it again. I have also climbed a Swiss Alp, been in Munich at the start of the World Cup, walked through a concentration camp, taken a gondola ride in Venice, listened to the Pope speak in Rome, climbed the Eiffel Tower (yes, I took the stairs), swam the French Rivera, danced with the Italian navy in Florence, had drinks with the French navy, shopped the grand bizarre in Istanbul, prayed in the Blue Mosque, rode a donkey in Santarini, seen the ancient city of Ephesus, camped in the redwoods, climbed the half dome in Yosemite, camped in Death Valley when it was 130 degrees out, drank wine at a French chateau, climbed to the "top of the world" in Lyon (France), sipped Sangria on the beach in Barcelona (and slept on that beach watching the stars), almost died in a taxi in Florence, been on a bus that hit the Louvre and everything else, seen the Mona Lisa and the real David, been in the Sistine Chapel, eaten a snail in Paris and Barcelona, snorkeled Catalina Island (California), stood in Napoleon's summer home, climbed into the clock tower in Vienna, watched the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, seen the real London Bridge, laid out at a nude beach in Rhodes, survived an earthquake and a tornado, gambled in an Indian casino on the reservation, gambled in Vegas, been skydiving, been bungee jumping, been hang gliding, been four wheeling in the Ring of Fire (Nevada), been rock crawling, been cliff jumping, been cave diving, climbed the red rock, been locked in a crypt with bodies from the time of the Plague in Vienna, drank Absinth, helped a friend sneak into the Vienna Opera for free, flown a plane, watched the sunrise in Central Park, ushered in a New Year in Times Square, put out a house fire, saved someone's life, attended burning man [)'(], walked the red light district, biked the canals, and been to a cafe in Amsterdam, and much much more. I have been on 4 continents all within a 12 month period (sadly, I have no more money to travel). Experiencing new cultures is AWESOME! If you get the chance, don't think about it, just go. I really want to go to: Israel, Egypt, South Africa, India, China, Thailand, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Peru, Russia, Tibet, Brazil, Venezuela, and the Galapagos.
Just to clarify: I paid for all my travels myself and I traveled the world alone. No one gave me these opportunities; I made them happen.
