It occurred to me that if you're someone that your 10 year old self would think was one of the coolest people walking the planet, you win! I know a lot of people that fit that criteria. I was going for a wander here in San Jose Costa Rica and enjoying the day, I get back to the Hostel and the police had shut it down, something about the administration that they wouldn't say more about. I leave the American tourist downstairs in the lounge. It's not that I don't in general
agree with the left wing politics he's spouting I just get enough if it at home. I walk out on
the balcony and into the night air just as the tropical storm is subsiding. The flashing and
rumbling has been going for an hour or so and the wind after the storm feels like cotton

I'm here in Costa Rica and I was in an international youth hostel on election night. It was interesting to watch the reactions from 20 somethings from the world over, the hostel gets CNN by satellite. The sense of relief was tangible as no one wanted McCain to win, and didn't want it in a really big way.
