now it's happening all the time
children by the hands of man are dying
lives are being tossed out in the street
and every day the scene repeats
another heart no longer beats

how can they do what they do to others

cold and dark the river courses
distant voices on its shores
quiet whispers softly calling
through perceptions open doors
