“You must become the change you wish to see in the world.”
- Mahatma Gandhi
"When you change the way you see things, the things you see change."
- Dr. Wayne Dyer
"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there."
- Will Rogers
“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.”
- Dr. Seuss
"Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence. True friendship is a plant of slow growth, and must undergo and withstand the shocks of adversity before it is entitled to the appellation."
-George Washington
"The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding. "
- Justice Louis Brandeis
you know, I originally grabbed this quote because I thought it spoke volumes about Bush and the people who vote for him. But with the recent things that have been coming out about Obama and him beginning to show his true colors, I think it just might apply to him as well. I really fear that if he wins the Democratic nomination, the Republican spin machine is going to annihilate him come November. Please dont let McBush take over the White House!
“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing”
- Theodore Roosevelt
“Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength.”
- Theodore Roosevelt
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to manifest the glory of God within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. "
- Nelson Mandela
President of the Republic of South Africa
from his 1994 Inaugural Speech
wow! this one blew me away. From an early age, people have told me I am intimidating and I should try to tone it down... NO WAY! I should be ME and invite others around me to find their own strength!
"In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends."
- Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.
ouch! this one really got me thinking! It's time for me to stop being so silent about things!
"No, I don't think I will kiss you, although you need kissing, badly. That's what's wrong with you. You should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how."
-Rhett Butler, Gone with the Wind
"No one man can terrorize a whole nation unless we are all his accomplices.”
-Edward R. Morrow
I guess this was originally referring to Joe McCarthy - but it certainly fits today, huh?
about me
I am a graying lesbian poly top. A self-identified faucet geek who keeps pretty darn busy and REALLY needs a wonderful service oriented submissive to make my life easier.
If you know eastern or western astrology, you will immediately recognize that as a Fire Horse AND a Scorpion, you may expect that I am VERY intense and sensual. I am large, demanding and in command when I choose to be.
I also have a strong Mommy energy, I am warm, caring and nurturing and love giving a good, powerful old-fashioned spanking to those in need...and I must warn you, my hands can fly as they beat out a rhythm deep into your soul.
With the right people, I can even let go of all the adult stresses and play as a 5 year old! There are far too many facets of my personality to fit in one little box, so ask me... I might share. ;-)

How do you write a simple testimonial for someone who is the farthest thing from simple? I dunno, but here goes...
Remarkably, I first met D while interviewing for a job I found here, on tribe, back in July of last year . Now here it is, nine months later, I still have a very cool job with wonderful bosses, (D being one of them). Not too many are as lucky as I am, to be able share with their bosses, a scene story or a fantasy or reliving something one of us had done that past weekend...hehehe
That is not the 'big news' nor is it the best part. This is.
I have found in D, one of the dearest friends ever. I do not lie or 'cover' with her, I let her just look at me truthfully, and that bespeaks of great trust on my part. I say what I like and what I truly feel, with no varnish and no bullshit and she respects me enough to do the same with me. While D and I have become fast friends - you aint seen nothing till you have seen us share a bottom! She brings a great strength and playful energy to a scene, that I just love! She is adventurous and fun, dangerous and careful, strong and soft, tough but sweet and a thousand other wonderous things that you will never know until you walk up and say "hello."
Do it .

If you've got a sibling you love, you know what this means. When I met D, I was concerned about who was taking care of my sister. D said she was one of them. I stopped worrying. 'nuff said.

What a souce of strength and power! She provides a safeplace with a note of whoop-ass. She's there when you need her. The D should be for desire, duty, diligence, danger, darling and dauntless.
With her guidance so much is attainable.
Thanks!

D. All you need is a letter, she's so great. No, seriously. D is one of those people who can consistently make you feel better, stronger, and special. Any time I find myself losing my focus, or hyperfocusing, she's right there, with the right words. Strong, smart, eloquent, and kind. She's not fluffy, by any means, though she can get down and playful with the rest of us when she wants to. She gives some of the best hugs, and damn, does she look good in a corset! Or wearing some of her omnipresent Mickey Mouse gear. One of my favorite people, and truly a gift in my life.

Now before people in our community scoff at me for this one... yes, we willingly enter a world where power exchange is the norm... so perhaps the quote should be modified to:
"Nothing external to you has any power over you - unless you allow it."
Even in our world... there had to be an agreement somewhere along the line where one gives another permission to hav...

Well, here we go again with the quote of the day service touching on topics I have running around in my own brain already! I was just telling Mercy last night that I am working on learning to not allow the actions of others to upset me or unbalance me. That I have to be strong and at peace in my own mind, and just do what I know is r...
