Re: fire walking?? (in WildFire) I'm pretty sure fire-walking has nothing to do with the mission of WF. As-such, I'm completely ok with this conversation being dropped.

That being said, I'M TOTALLY INTERESTED TOO! What a fun add-on to the WF experience!

My Blog

Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor had an opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: One morning, she realized she was having a massive stroke. As it happened -- as she felt her brain functions slip away one by one, speech, movement, understanding -- she studied and remembered every moment. On my way to work this morning, I saw a hot air balloon lazily drifting its way between the central-Connecticut hills. I thought, “What a rarity that is.” and thought briefly of my youth in rural Houston when ballooners would fly low over the pine trees and scare the horses.

Then and now, balloons are a delight.

Sitting at my desk later, I suddenly heard the roar of the heater as the balloon passing overhead ... close. I dashed outside to look.

They had just landed in a shallow ditch... read more

Hello Fire Family,

We have all left Wildfire, and are now settling-in to our more regular lives. Some of us are feeling a huge cultural down-shift. Others are landing gracefully, carrying the WF-groove with us everywhere.

Our blogs, threads, and our e-mails are filled with words like 'exceptional' and 'amazing', but mostly 'gratitude'.

This is good - very good.

I'm reminded of a commencement speach Bill Clinton gave to Middlebury a few years ago on 'Community'. I think they direct... read more
