What a lovely woman! She's oh so nice, warm, and like her name says, sweet. I am always happy when I see she's sent me a message.

courage, humor, warmth, spirit, brains, tenacity, creativity and more, dana is one inspiring human being. her willingness to meet the world head-on and be who she really is is something we can all learn from. and a total sweetheart to boot. it doesn't get better than that!

So... it's been a while since I posted online about what's been going on with me. It turns out... a lot. So where to begin?
My dad is much improved. When I last wrote, he was suffering a bit of a melt down. He's now going to see his doctors and taking care of himself. I've been to see him several times and he keeps looking better and better. He's still my dad, so that means hard-headed and chronically depressed, but I think even he sees the light at the end of the tunnel.
He was very ...

It's been a few weeks since I posted about my dad, and some things have changed.
He survived the surgery, but it appears that he won't survive the recovery. Depression runs deep in my family... yes, even to me (I know you're surprised). While his mood was great after he got home, he has steadily gotten worse over the last ten days or so. And so he is now refusing any further medical attention, including doctor visits and prescriptions. He contends that if he hadn't been drugged while in t...

Well... this last week proves not everything goes to shit all the time. After suffering a massive heart attack, my dad seems to be on the mend.
He underwent an angiogram with the hopes that angioplasty (inserting a stent in one blocked artery) would be all that was needed. No such luck. It turns out he needed quadruple bypass surgery. This was done last Wednesday evening.
Since then, his recovery has been amazing. To be truthful, I didn't think he had it in him. I really thought he wou...

Okay... He had a MASSIVE heart attack, and from Wednesday afternoon to early this morning, he continued to suffer from it. His internal organs began shutting down in response. When I saw him last night, I was pretty sure I would be scattering his ashes soon.
However...
This morning, the doctors were able to establish a normal sinus rhythm, he's breathing on his own and liver function seems to be stabilizing. Things are looking much, much better.
They were going to do an emergency ang...
