Casual Kid Friendly New Year's Celebration

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/danastream/blog/643d7b26-f314-4a57-aaad-f8bbd147b668"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/0d9/ebd/0d9ebda8-fc9a-4829-8bf3-afa3750349ef.thumb" width="65" height="52" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>So now that we've entered parentdom we can not attend the usual New Year's events and are pretty tired these days so we're just as content to hang out on the local front and be chill but would love if friends wanna come on over to celebrate. We promise good vibes, good music, good space to hang... please bring kids and/or be willing to hang with ours ;-), bring good food and drink, leave the garbage from last year and bring your optimism and enthusiasm for yet another gregorian calendar year ;-) yay!

If you wish to participate in the midnight ritual (which will be very casual) please bring something from the past year you want to release and you will have the opportunity to cast it into the fire... (so it should be small and safely burnable - could be anything from a strand of hair, a piece of fabric, a part of a larger something, a piece of paper with words expressing what you wish to release, etc.

RSVP if you can to me on tribe or danarr@earthlink.net
but come drop in even if you don't ;-)

My cell phone is missing so you can try reaching our home number - 206-232-8734 or calling John's cell - 206-979-3633.

Directions:

These Directions Must be followed or you'll get lost... but it's easy once you do it and it is only 12 min from DT seattle or bellevue so it's not that 'far away'.

Take I-90 to Mercer Island (from Seattle; I-5 to I-90 East, from Bellevue; I-405 to I-90 West)
Take the "Island Crest Way" Exit and Head South on Island Crest Way for about 2 miles. When the two lanes narrows to one lane PAY ATTENTION!
TURN LEFT on 53rd Pl (NOT 53rd ST which is just before and a dead end) if you pass the Elementary School you have gone too far.
Go down 53rd Pl to the bottom of the hill.
TURN RIGHT onto East MercerWay which is very windy.
Go for 3-4 curves until you come to a sign that says GLENHOME with 11 mailboxes underneath.
AT THIS SIGN VEAR DOWN LEFT INTO THE GULLY. Which is more or less a blind leap of faith unless you pull up to the mailboxes underneath the Glenhome sign and pretend to get your mail... then the road will allign clearly before you.
Go down this private drive but don't go into any other driveways.
The road will wind you to the left and you can see the lake and it comes to a Y.
At the Y vear Right to go south parallel with the lake for a couple hundred yards. THe road goes down a dip and you will pass our old house that was red with a totem pole and continue back up hill.
As the road goes up turn to the right to go up further and we are the first drive way on the left.

The number of the house is 5818 E. Mercer Way but the houses are not in numerical order and it is not really on E. Mercer Way so abide these directions and don't try mapquest.

If parking in our lot is full we will have some other options down the hill from our house.

Hope to see you there... call if you have any trouble. 206-232-8734
Love Dana, John and Kyra!

<div>So it took awhile but I finally got some photos of Kyra up plus Alli took some amazing pregnancy photos 2 days before I delivered! They were all soooo wonderful (Alli is an awsome photographer - highly recommended!!!) that I had significant difficulty in choosing what to post so there's a bunch of them (I hope it doesn't seem vain of me ;-) Warning - there's a Naked Pregnant Lady in the photos!!! I wonder if I have to mark my profile as mature... it says you do for Sexually explicit nudity - well I'm nude but it doesn't seem very sexual to me... what do you guys think? We'll be getting more photos of Kyra as we go and I'll do my best to post but it's hard to find time for anything as she seems permanently afixed to my boob these days! well she's finally sleeping now so I better go get some lunch before it's dinner :-) Love and Light to You!!!</div>

Kyra has Joined the Planet!

<div>Kyra Zephyra Stream was born on Sept 23rd at 10:37pm. She weighs 5.9lbs and is 20 inches long. She was super strong and alert and has barely cried at all. She passed all her little newborn exams with flying colors so we are expecting a genius ;-)

My bag of waters broke last night around 12:35am... had a few irregular but strongish contractions that pettered out by 8 am. So after a morning exam to confirm the waters had truely broken we went into a proactive phase of really 'jump starting labor' through natural induction techniques... I went to the accupuncturist to activate the labor points. By 2pm Heather and Heidi (two of my wonderful doulas) came over - we walked around a bit and I drank a castor oil milk shake (which was not as bad as I was warned) and by 4:30 I was in progressing labor... which progressed until about 7 by which time I really wanted to head to the birth center. I got pretty internal in my process; my eyes were closed much of the time and we OHMED through each contraction which was very helpful. It seemed pretty freakin' intense and painful to me but I've been told that we were a model birth team and I did super well and seemed to not have such a bad go of it . The final pushing stages - which was super intense - lasted only 11 min and I guess some women linger there for hours - my god I can't even imagine that. so I guess I won't focus on or remember the pain I felt but how well we all handled it. Many super increadible thanks to my team - John was great, Doulas; Heather, Heidi, and Jen I. were wonderful - THANK YOU SO MUCH! and I highly recommend Suzy Myers, Desane, and all the staff at the Seattle Home Maternity Center. The whole thing was beautifully wonderful and I'm so greatful to everyone and my beautiful daughter who contributed to such a wonderful birth experience. On the one hand it was intensely painful enough I'm sort of amazed we still exist on the planet and mother's didn't just give up on this whole thing millenias ago and on the other I hold my little creation and I can start to see why one would even do it again! ;-) AMAZING!!!

She and John are sleeping here beside me... he is super sexy snoring away holding my baby! ;-) And she has been sleeping soundly for a couple of hours so I should try to get some rest before it's time to feed her again. We'll be in touch.

Lots of Love and Light, Dana and the Stream Family!

Photos to come!</div>
