what? i haven't written a testimonial for this one???? i swore i did... but maybe i thought i had because of all the talking up i did when he was first coming to portland. does that count? well, better to have something in writing, er, text.
i adore dan. it's this old friendly adoration that touches this really squishy place in my heart that is usually covered up under many other layers of stuff. not many people know that spot, but considering the length of time we've known each other and the goofy madness that we have in our history.... well, pretty much he practically owns that joint. he's not only uber artistically talented, but his fantastic combination of intelligence and wit is such that he'll get you when you least expect it- which makes it all the better. he talks very quietly, so it's important to listen well, because you might miss something that would have had you in glorious stitches or would have taught you to look at the world in a better way.
i love and respect you heaps, dan. you know this, but i won't get tired of sayin' it. and even though you waited to move to portland until i was leaving, and though we ALWAYS seem to miss each other at the burn, no matter how much time passes between our hangout sessions, i will always love you.

I tried, and I'll try again.
Smooooosh!
I love Dan, he's a brother to me.
He's fun, has a great heart and is steady and sure.
He is also a master of the brush, pen, you name it.
He takes amazing photos.
He has a brilliant sarcastic wit and will let you know it when you need it.
He has a big family of people that love him, and its growing.
He's tough and has a fire inside of him.
He's a good hard worker.
He can dance.
He has knowledge, as uses it sparingly, but precisely.
He is modest and a gentleman and comrade.
He is funny in a roll around on the ground laughing kind of way.

I can't believe this one doesn't have a testimonial yet, although i know a few have tried.... perhaps its because Dan slips in between the spaces between words and before you know it he's sitting beside you grinning and dangling his feet of the edge of the world with you, as comforting and comfortable as if he'd been there since the very beginning. You can hear the insights and wry observations that fill up his head leaking out from the crinkles by his eyes when he smiles and taste his joy at being alive in the lines of the work he creates. A talented smart sexy silly beautiful addition to my orbit. Who is at least 87% complete dork and definitely 100% so good.
i don't have a myspace and i'm not on facebook. i've never been on friendster. i used to use tribe. you used to more too. was it the constant down-time? the smooshed avatar? or was it just... time to move on? now all i hear is crickets, ginberry, and party announcements. i'm not checking my tribe much either. i guess flickr deviantart illustrationmundo twitter and etsy have taken it's place, but these are art dork sites not so much with the virtual networking of friends. all of my blogs of la...

"My final photo is made up of 220 Canon G10 images and the file is 59,783 X 24,658 pixels or 1,474 megapixels. It took more than six and a half hours for the Gigapan software to put together all of the images on my Macbook Pro and the completed TIF file is almost 2 gigabytes."

surrounded by large scale art projects, thousands of zip-ties, every LED manufactured, a grid of artists of every stripe, professional faux-fur costume makers, long days, and a long drive to get there.
