Burning Man this year?

Hello Tribe.net, so sorry to have abandond you for so long!

I am looking for a ticket to Burning Man 2009.

Thus far I have been lucky enough to find some at this late of date for less than $300, but I am really really hoping for one under $200. This will really be the deciding factor of whether or not I go this year. I really don't want to miss a year of my beloved Burn, but SO many negative obstacles have been aimed toward or around me this year that I've been too emotionally exhausted to even think about my annual desert trek until now, and it is less than 3 weeks away from the event, so...

I know that they are out there, I just need to find them!

So I am appealing to you, carousers of tribe.net blogs and hoping that you will let me know if you have anything, or if you know anyone who has anything.

I will try to log in here more frequently, but my internet access is sporadic, so you can email me: liberatemymadnessdc@yahoo.com, which I am more likely to check daily.

Thanks, and good looking out!

;)

Cinematic Hits

A few days ago while I was at work I was thinking about all the Japanese and Korean movies that get re-made and turned into 'American Cinema.' I personally am a fan of Japanese horror movies and so I take an interest usually in the Japanese film version and then pay attention to the one that the US cranks out as well.

I think the differences in the different versions are more interesting that the similarities of course, and I've noticed that a lot of times the main focus of Japanes or Korean features is suspense, while Americanized versions is big boobs. No seriously, go watch 'One Missed Call' or 'The Ring' in Japanese, then watch the American ones, you'll see too.

I was thinking of this very interesting Korean movie I saw about 5 years ago and even though there were definite holes in the plot it has always been one of those movies that stuck with me because there are really creepy parts and also a revelatory ending. This particular movie was called 'A tale of Two Sisters.' I was thinking about how interesting it would be to see an Americanized version of this movie and decided that if I ever become a movie maker, I'll have to re-make this video, a la big boobed blondes.

That very day, probably within an hour of having these thoughts I was logging into myspace and came across an ad for a new movie that started this weekend called 'The Uninvited.' I read the synopsis and what the holy flying fuck!?! It's totally the 'Tale of two Sisters!!!' And of course, the girls in the American version are older and have bigger boobs!

I should have guessed when I saw that it was from the creators of 'Th Ring' and 'Disturbia' because both of those were re-makes.

Golly, funny coincidence I suppose, just thought I'd share...

So long Queen Bee, I loved you...

In another failed attempt to off himself my ex-bf beckoned me to spend tonight in the most elite psych ward Northern Cali has to offer, so that I could sit in the waiting room and worry.

I just got home to find a dead caca-roach in my bed.

It also appears that one of my froggies jumped his water bowl, shriveled up, and died sometime tonight as well.

...And I also just found out that my hero, Bettie Page, just died from complictions due to a heart attack she suffered earlier this week.

I'm sad, but I won't get high. I won't be sleeping tonight either...

Through a lens

I did not take one single picture while I was at the Burn this year!!!

I decided not to see the playa through the eyes of a camera and all that jazz... Besides, they always look just like every other year's pictures!

I'm graduating!

I took my last final tonight! I will be joining the commencement ceremony for UCD graduation on Saturday the 14th at 2pm!

I'm pretty excited! I now have a higher education than pretty much everyone I've ever dated... Hhhhmmmmmm, let me gloat in that a little while...

As an after graduation tryst I wanted to go with my S.O. to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, but it's so expensive to get there! A one way trip on the Amtrak is more than the price of Admission to the aquarium! Then there'd be the ride home, food, and board and all that other stuff to contend with too.

So I think we're just going to go to Cache Creek or something Sunday. We'll see. It wouldn't be a Univ. graduation without the broke ass college students to go along with it!

Birthday???

Goliath officially turned 5 feet long today!

I came home and he had shed in one great big long piece and I measured his skin... It was exactly 60 inches! I think this may be a birthday? I don't really know too much about his history pre- the last 3 months, but I think that means he's around 5 years old?

Fishy

My Beta fish, Sashimi 2, is swimming on his side and laying on the bottom of his bowl in the rocks...

I hope this doesn't mean he is going to die! :-0
