sewing, obsessions, and the fine art of procrastination
(blog entry)
So I felt like sewing. The only experience I have sewing is barbie doll clothes in adolescence, a few pillow cases, and a few unfinished costumes. I sew by hand so my enthusiasm for any project gets dulled as I realize how long it takes me to ma...

Now I'm not complaining. I really have no right to complain considering I just got back from a great trip. Only this week has been very stressful as I try to juggle all the things I thought I had taken care of before I left. Oh well. I'm almos...

One of those days
(blog entry)
I'm still floating. Sure I'm at work and that ought to make me more earthbound but it's just a great day. Even doing really stupid things (like actually washing a pillow that refuses to dry in my dryer) has no effect on my good mood.

Floating on Air
(blog entry)
Do you ever just have days, weeks, months, when everything goes right and you forget why you moaned and griped the week before? I don't mean to ru anyone's nose in my happiness - but I'm just amazingly happy and relishing it. Don't worry, I'm su...

So I felt like sewing. The only experience I have sewing is barbie doll clothes in adolescence, a few pillow cases, and a few unfinished costumes. I sew by hand so my enthusiasm for any project gets dulled as I realize how long it takes me to make something I will probably never be able to wear out of the house. But I've recently felt like attending a Regency dance event and the Renaissance Faire is coming up so I decided to sew a renaissance bodice and an empire gown.

Only this week has been very stressful as I try to juggle all the things I thought I had taken care of before I left. Oh well. I'm almost on top of it all. That's why I'm procrastinating writing this.

I don't mean to ru anyone's nose in my happiness - but I'm just amazingly happy and relishing it. Don't worry, I'm sure the balloon will be punctured soon enough and then I'll have plenty of material for my rants. In the meantime - here's hoping that you too are floating on air.

They say you don't really know a person until you live with them...or in my case, travel with them. Easy going and fun, with a keen intellect and a voracious appetite for reading. 5 books in 6 days? I'm awed. Quiet at times where she is silently observing all that surrounds her, taking mental notes (and sometimes actual ones in her pocket spiral bound notebook) about the world and the many unique people that inhabit it. Danielle has an edearing innocent quality that is complimented by her willing acceptance of people and their quirks. Friendly and open with a ready smile on her face, she will happily strike up a conversation with or lend a sympathetic ear to anyone who'd like to participate in making a connection with her. Through our parents, I've known Dani most of my life, but now I am happy to call her a true friend!
