There are so many reasons to love this person. Dan is the most talented human I have ever personally known (until david byrne starts returning my calls). But the biggest best most wonderful thing about Dan as far as I am concerned, is that he was the first one, the only one, and probably the last oneto ever, EVER believe in my talent as a rapper.

When I was a child, there was a man in our neighborhood who, once he had quit drinking, decided to estimate how much money he'd spent on alcohol, and instead dedicate these funds toward the contruction of a boat. Slowly the craft took form, casually growing on his front lawn, betraying no knowledge of its foreignness. Eventually, when the boat was finished, the man sold his house and sailed away. Recently, I heard that he died of pneumonia in the Mexican jungle. I imagine this would not be the worst life to live.
