New Years Day and we have been coping with still being stuck behind the flood waters. Here is a picture of us "up to our necks" in hot water. The Hot Tub was officially opened and as you can see... times are tough here in the Rio Nido disaster zone.

So... Here we are in our first River Flood. The water has been above 40 feet at the Russian River Guerneville Bridge which means that the entire access to Rio Nido is underwater. Our home remains mostly dry and is well out of the flood water. We are settling into a nice mellow routine of reading to each other, watching scifi DVD's and walking in the rain with our small wet dog. We have food and supplies to last us a long time... no worries.. the power is still on and that makes things absolutely comfy. Looks like we'll be flooded in at least until Tuesday the 3rd or longer. Luckily... the Hot tub is complete and almost up to temperature. This will make being stranded even posher!

I just wanted to say WOW! what a great party! I have so much gratitude faor all that attended and made the weekend so easy and fantastic. OK... well its really just a move... but with your help it would be a party!. We signed and will take possession of our new house on this Friday the 5th. The weekend of the 6th we'll be cleaning and ppainting and packing. On the weekend of the 13th and 14th we will be doing the actual van move of the larger items. If you are available and would like to help us (especially on Sunday) then drop me a line and you will be well fed offered free beer and receive my and Sherry's gratitude.

We bought a House

Hi there world at large, Sherry and I went into escrow on a house in Rio Nido (down the road from Korbel Winery) today. If all goes well then we will close the sale sometime by August 5th. I have included a pic of the living room which is the neatest part of the house proper. The land its on is the other fantastic part. Lots of privacy, redwoods and a whole private canyon that backs up onto my house. We are very excited and can't wait to host folks in our new digs. I'm not much of a blogger but I couldn't resist telling the world. and since your blogs show up on my profile I thought this would be a good unobtrusive way to let folks know. We'll let you know when the Housewarming party is (sometime in August around my birthday) With lots of Wahoo - Dan
