"Great food at amazing prices"
The Lebanese flower is something of an institution in Abu Dhabi, with 3 locations. Incredibly cheap, amazing food, and shisha if you are so inclined. They're affiliated with a bakery that makes the most amazing cheese bread on the planet.

Sorry...still seem to be an off-again, on-again tribester.
We had a pretty good Christmas. Kind of strange celebrating it in a country where the majority of people don't, but then my family's traditions have always been of the hole-up-at-home-...

Well, we are finally hosting our housewarming party this weekend, which has touched off a flurry of shopping and errands to try to get the place ready! I have been completely burnt out on home shopping...partly because we had to do it all at once...

The view across the street
about me
I was born in Canada and lived most of my life there before moving to Florida and then Abu Dhabi, UAE. Recently repatriated back to Regina, Saskatchewan. I used to think I was going to have a performing arts career but I ended up being a librarian instead! Doesn't stop me from being involved in the arts in my extracurricular life though. I have one daughter.

I am spending a lot of time at work right now on web development--who knew I would become a librarian for this?--but I'm having a really good time with it. I love hand-coding, and I get a rush when things validate and work out exactly how they are supposed to. Geeky, I know, but what can you do but accept it? I am learning a LOT of funky CSS tricks and I'm in the process of redoing my per...

Sorry...still seem to be an off-again, on-again tribester.
We had a pretty good Christmas. Kind of strange celebrating it in a country where the majority of people don't, but then my family's traditions have always been of the hole-up-at-home-and-spend-time-together variety so in some ways this year was not so different after all. Apart from friends' parties and get-togethers we holed up at home, ate turkey, mandarins and other Christmas goodies, opened presents, relaxed, and listened to...

Well, we are finally hosting our housewarming party this weekend, which has touched off a flurry of shopping and errands to try to get the place ready! I have been completely burnt out on home shopping...partly because we had to do it all at once, and partly because I could NEVER find ANYTHING that wasn't COMPLETELY ugly. Fortunately, after a 2 or 3 month haitus, there are FINALLY some nicer things in the stores. So we actually have things like cushions on our couches. I can hardly stand ...

...to all my tribe cohorts.
Not many Hallowe'en related activities here, of course, which is strange...though hey, I am seeing Christmas decorations in all the stores as of a few days ago. Weird.
Hope the coming year is healthy and happy for you all!
