I left Tribe.net back in June 2006 to work for a company focusing on local empowerment called Backfence.com. Unfortunately our funding ended before we could spread like a virus empowering all localities and suburbs throughout America. I'll be starting my new job heading up marketing for Cyworld, the oldest social network on the planet, beginning May 2007. They are just now launching a US version so it will be an up hill battle but one I hope we can win. Feel free to check me out there at: us.cyworld.com/darianp I'll try and update Tribe when I can, but this will be the best place to find me. Cheers, Darian

TRIBETAG RULES - Once you've been tagged, you have to write a blog with 8 facts/things/habits about yourself, saying who tagged you. In the end you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. No tag backs. TRIBETAG FACTS ABOUT ME: Fact 1: I like motorcycles Fact 2: I get car sick easily (but not motorcycle sick) Fact 3: I watch more television than I'll admit to Fact 4: Wine isn't an addiction. It is a way of life Fact 5: My wife is beautiful Fact 6: Tribe is the best social network. I only wish the rest of the world knew that fact Fact 7: I haven't been sleeping well lately which is actually my best skill Fact 8: I hate bell peppers (regardless of color) and they should be eradicated from the earth People I'm TribeTagging: Brian, Julia, Fanny, Jeff, Gary, Mark
So, what do you think?

Do you wish you had one to? Anyway, I picked this baby up on Saturday after my old-used-to-be-reliable-no-matter-how-much-I-neglected-it '93 Suzuki 500GS motorcycle died Friday night. Finally had had it with the old girl. I need a name for the new bike (if you can't tell it is a 2005 Ducati Monster 620 Dark). Ideas?
The race itself was pretty amazing. The fact that these guys can reach speeds of over 200mph is astonishing if you've ever driven a motorcycle.

Coupled with the fact that Americans came in first and second place made for quite a day. That being said, the Laguna Seca people had a lot of problems as they just weren't prepared for 60,000 people--despite 10k of them on motorcycles. It took us 2 hours to get there from the enterance (about 3 miles from the actual parking lot). And then, it took us 3 hourse to get out. And, they had no-one directing traffic. Not sure I'd go there again but motorcycle races in general can be an awesome spectacle. You get to see a little of everything--spandex-mullet-wearers, tatooed-punk-rockers, middle-aged country-club couples, and even the occasional midget. Go figure. One thing I did learn: I need a new motorcycle. Especially after not being able to get mine started Monday morn. So, now I'm on the hunt. I'll let you know how it goes.
The phrase generally implies boring, boring, boring. However, I've recently seeded a portion of our yard and am anxiously waiting to see sprouts and shoots emerge.

Yeah, it's only been a couple of days, and maybe today's bizzaro rain will help. But I can stop thinking about how my nervous glances to the backyard are completely incongruous to the phrase "it's like watching the grass grow."

Darian's a smart, funny guy who commits wholly to an idea if he believes in it. Need proof? Check out his holiday photo -- clearly, the man is confident in his deeds and actions.
