What a week!!

I went to Vancouver, B.C. Sunday- Tuesday to see TheCure!!!! I had an amazing time. I went with three friends from work. The show was incredible....it was my first time seeing them live. They played a long show, with at least 4 encores-- and each encore they played 4 songs! We went to an after party 'Fascination Street' at a gay club. It was soooo wonderful to party in another town, another country!, and I was really impressed with the club/nightlife there. It wasn't a drunk vibe, everyone was high. The sound was impeccable and the DJs were excellent. They played Cure songs mixed with 80s, and there were Cure music videos as visuals...I feel in love with the Cure all over again.
I met a really cute girl named Allie, she had purple hair and I think she was bi-curious, but too shy to make out with me. I gave her a copy of my zine and that felt nice.
We stayed in our friend's timeshare (thank you Jay!!!), which was basically a really sweet apartment on the 24th floor, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking downtown.
I noticed there were tons of erotic stores, and juice bars. Our favorite spot was New Amsterdam, which was a hash bar. It isn't legal to sell ganja, but it is legal to smoke there. I really enjoyed their gay district (Davie street), more than San Fransisco's.
Now I am back in good ole Portland, OR... and have been stressin out. It's so hard saying no to a friend isn't it??!! My dear friend invited me to go on a road trip with her for a week beginning June 12th, and I agreed. But now I have changed my mind. It has been very hard news for her to take, which I understand since this trip means a lot to her. She is graduating from college, and wants to take a break from it all.She also tells me I am the only one she wants to go with. What I have realized though is that what I need for my own wellbeing is to focus on my move. This move is a big step for me. Plus I don't want to move my cat to a strange place and then leave her for a week. That does not feel right to me. What I need is to move with her, and get settled in, and slowly begin this new chapter in my life. I do not have the energy for a road trip right now, even though I LOVE road trips and usually never say no to the chance to go camping. I hope that my friend forgives me, and has a wonderful time anyway.
