Annam Brahma ~ Food is God

So simply, this is the mantra of the place I had brunch today. It really was a haven. As soon as I stepped inside, everything slowed down. they brought me warm chai; I sniffed it but waited a while to sip. It's their international vegetarian buffet that brought me there today, and while everything was so lovely--banana pakoras, shepherds pie, couscous, hummous wraps, curry--it was the bowl of carefully sliced celery that really took me there. It looked so artfully placed, like someone had sliced it up with the greatest care just for me, or for its own sake, and I was honored to have a couple of pieces on the salad. It brought me to a place of presence with my food, like with a lover... you make sure you are present at any moment, not spacing out for any length of time and missing the appreciation of a subtlety, a nuance, a pleasure. Such depth it adds. Treat your food like God, like the Beloved, and it makes it easy to treat everything that way, deepening your experience, aligning your harmony with the universe.

mouth watering description......
made me glad I'll be in Ca. in a few weeks, for a few weeks for some good but not expensive, spicy food from all over the world.
Also reminded me, time for dinner. Let's see if I can bring the same attention you wrote about to my meal.
And yes, diosa sabe, where I'd be without dark chocolate.:)
