The workshop will be suitable for levels beginner through advanced-intermediate, but beginners should have some experience and should expect to be challenged. For more info about the location or to arrange for borrowing a drum, pm me.
Come on out and party!

We had not planned to perform together, but as you can see it turned out really well. Christy is director of Sulukule, one of the most innovative troops in the southeast, in my humble opinion. She also knows a WHOLE LOT about the dance! P.S.: If anyone can help me with embedding youtube videos on tribe, you will have my eternal gratitude!

Re: Chords for rompi rompi?
(in SCA Middle Eastern Musicians)
Thanks for the replies everybody. I knew that, traditionally, the music doesn't use chords. I know that Greek music uses d hijaz, and that they have chords, so I figured maybe someone had "ported" them over.
Maybe I'll try. discussion post on Thu, May 15, 2008 - 9:44 PM

Chords for rompi rompi?
(in SCA Middle Eastern Musicians)
Anyone ever played this song with chords?
Every time I play it the left side of my accordion gets all sad and lonely :( discussion post on Wed, May 7, 2008 - 6:05 PM

Re: Musicality

Nobody said speed was bad, or that the only way to play is slowly. I think the point being made is that speed is not the most important thing, nor is being faster than the other guy. You need the whole package. This is made clear by all the videos...
