Lessons Will Focus on:
- Proper classical technique for striking the drum
- Timing
- Basic/Intermediate Arabic and Turkish rhythms
- How to add “spice” to the music you already know, and the rhythms you already play
- How to drum for dancers (yes, there is a difference!)

Whether you already play, or are just getting started, this class will tighten up your sound, enhance your understanding of the instrument and the music, and make you a competent drummer capable of playing with a band, for dancers, or just for fun!
(class is Bring Your Own Drum, loaners may be available)

We will cover the basics, and the more advanced students will learn advanced strikes, fills, and authentic embelishments.
It IS ok to attend with a different kind of drum. You won't get the full effect of the technique portion of the class, but the rhythm section will help you understand how to fit in with this style of percussion.
