Burnt out on my job, I bought a plane ticket to San Fransisco. Met up with a random tourist from Argentina, rented a car, purchased some army surplus camping gear on Haight Street, one bumble bee costume, filled up 40 gallons of water, and enough cash to buy 2 tickets at the gates of Black Rock City. When I got there, the Argentinian ditched me....my tent blew away in a wind storm, and so I sought refuge with a random crew of...............wonderful, generous people..........I love Burning Man.

about me
My recent realization:
I should put my life energy into charity (helping others), not partying (distractions/escapism), not killing (mindless obedience....contributing to doing harm to others). But this is a hard goal to live up to. I recently took a 5 month sabbatical and did what I love in life. Helping others. Having a meaning and purpose in life. I sacrificed going to Burning man this year because I put my money towards my own travel and living costs....Now I am broke and back at a paying job. But it was worth the risk and experiences. Here is a little of what I did:I recently took a 5 month sabbatical and did what I love in life. Helping others. Having a meaning and purpose in life. But is did sacrifice going to Burning man this year because I put my money towards my own travel and living costs....Now I am broke and back at a paying job. But it was worth the risk and experiences. Here is a little of what I did: I worked at H.I.P.S.(Helping Individual Prostitutes Survive) in Washington D.C. I helped out in the office and did handy-man tasks, I also got a better understanding of sex workers and how to relate to them on a personal level. I traveled to Kenya, East Africa this last July and volunteered at the Kibwezi Youth Polytechnic . I renewed my spirituality and faith in God. Not to mention I danced and sang in languages that I didn't understand...but it was great. I also went to Honduras and volunteered with an NGO called Hope for Honduran Children. Look it up on the internet and go too. Everybody needs to stay involved... make a difference in other people's lives!
