a week in and the signs are still up the name is still resounding with glee the usual world is still on its way in a handbasket yet people everywhere seem to not be that phased because they know what is happening our man was seen hobnobbing at the whitehouse today... and that alone is hope incarnating... this is no longer a time for hope to be deferred for 8 long years we have been waiting for this time for some of us we have been waiting since 1968 and some since nov. 22 1963... we have a future again that looks brighter than our past... for the first time since that dreadful night the supreme court announce they were giving the presidency to the unelected gov. of Texas... the first time... it's amazing how the global consensus is in already... no need to wait for the hindsight of history the present administration and its sorry cast is loathed and reviled by enough of the world for us all to feel the elation and jubilence at its democratic demise... but the great thing about this moment is not only is it that we get to get rid of and shake off the freaking yukkyness... but... we also get to have just a human being with obvious integrity in the office of the presidency of the United States... now from the reactions of the world and the immediate headlines the media seems to have initially couched the story as: "first black president" from the first moments that magnificent night as i searched the web for his victory speech from the front seat of my bus parked on a street in "the Valley" and at first saw the headlines "First Black President " i was actually surprised and thought they had all missed the point i've been meaning to write this since then & as the days have gone by what i've seen has only served to inspire me more to get it down as the moment passes... so here is my two cents: for me as a person of 3 racial bloodlines the significance of this election of Obama wasn't about race... it was about the quality of a person triumphing for us all at a time when we all ..the whole world really needed for the best man, the best person to win... so we could finally begin to live up to our potential and our ideals...as a people...as a nation and as a true beacon as the best and brightest humanity has to offer yes as "...the last best hope..." at this critical of critical moments... there are those who may see this as the story of the triumph over race prejudice another giant step in this country healing itself of the undeniable truth that America was built on slavery (both the Whitehouse and capitol building were both built by enslaved Africans and African-Americans) and the inherent hippocracy of "the founding fathers" creating a nation state based on liberty and justice for all except those they owned and enslaved... which led to the horrors of the civil war and the klan and the lynchings, fire-hoses, and the illegality at risk of death of my ancestors on both sides making love and marrying... for the past 2 centuries until 1968... given all this ...history... for me i recognise how important it is for all those working on the race thing but if we leave it there if we let the story be "1st BLACK Pres." we miss the point... 1,000 or 10,000 years from now if humanity is still here Race will be as confusing an issue to understand as it is for "us" to understand the Bosnian or Rwandan ör Shiite/Sunni genocides... but if things go right humanity may have cause to look back here and see that here is where we finally started to fulfill our destiny our potential as human beings and as a species and it all started with h o p e... the hope we rallied around and invested in our choice of a man who stood for one brief shining moment as a symbol for all that we might aspire to for ourselves and our generations... a man who recognized and reminded us in speech after speech that it wasn't about him it was about us our relationship with our selves our potential and our future... a rallying point and a symbol of all that is the true, right and goodness of humanity to finally set things right and strike out on the best path for humanity... the path of consciousness and compassion... no small task no small expectation but at least we finally get to live and move in the direction we started and left off with "...one small step for man..." it ain't about race... it's about promise fulfilling & living up to our own ideals... simple homework so good to be doing it with the whole world at once... that is the wonder of this time the global awareness of the unity of the species of humanity with the rest of creation... to pretend otherwise is to really miss out... never before in the history of our species has the awareness of our connectedness been so unavoidable... i love you d

I REALIZED I HAD NOT BEEN OPEN TO ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT MANIFESTS IN MY LIFE... PREFERING TO LEAVE IT UP TO THE UNIVERSE BUT AT SOME POINT ONE WHO CONSIDERS THEMSELVES ON THE PATH MUST SHOULDER THE BURDEN OF WHAT THEY CAN BEAR... I THINK THEY CALL THIS MATURITY IN THE SPIRITUAL SENSE... ACKNOWLEDGING THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT DOES & DOESN'T HAPPENS IN MY LIFE... MAKING IT TO BURNING MAN ON MY BIRTHDAY WAS PROOF TO MYSELF OF MY ABILITY TO MANIFEST A TICKET, GAS, & FOOD... LAST WEEK I HAD TO MANIFEST NEARLY $1000 FOR VARIOUS BILLS & IT HAPPENED... THIS PROVIDED ME WITH A CHANGE OF MIND FROM STRESS TO PEACE OF MIND THAT I HAVE BEEN FULLY OBSERVING SINCE... I AM NOW ENVISIONING... SEEING WHAT ELSE NEEDS FIXING IN MY LIFE IT'S A SHORT BUT CRUCIAL LIST... AT THE MOMENT: ISSUES OF HOUSING LOVE LIFE PARTNERSHIPS & PERSONAL FINANCIAL WEALTH CREATING THE EXHIBITION VEHICLE FOR THE WORK AS FAR AS THE HOUSING I CHOOSE A BIG LIVE-IN STUDIO/GALLERY SPACE ON THE BEACH... A CARROT DANGLING FROM THE END OF THE STICK SPURRING ME ON... THE RESULT BEING THE SAME NOT THERE YET BEING BY MYSELF... WHILE I LOVE& ENJOY MY OWN TIME & COMPANY I WOULD LOVE TO BE WITH THE RIGHT PERSON IN A HEALTHY WAY INSTEAD OF QUESTING HER...LONGING FOR HER...BEING SEPARATED FROM HER... THE RIGHT PERSON IS SOMEONE I AM GENUINELY EXCITED TO BE WITH A NATURAL JOYOUS CONTENTMENT... so after writing 'til 5am i get to sleep & get woken up by my old friend Bob knocking on the door at 11:30 am to say i'm gonna get a ticket so i'm up out the door down the ally turn the corner & running up the street in time to watch the donut patrol place ever so casually under my windshield wiper my second street cleaning parking ticket this week ...good morning... that will be $50... would you like fries with that...? the first ticket was when i did a live painting performance at an art party in downtown LA last week & at the same time had my bike with the bike rack still attached & locked to it ripped off stolen from off the front of the car... the good thing is my beautiful yellow bus looks better without that pesky bike rack on the front the thief was kind enough to leave his own broken bike with the seat & handle bars still warm laying on the sidewalk next to the bus... after all what would he do with 2 bikes must not be too greedy... (i used it to ride around looking for the bike rack & left it back on the sidewalk....so if you need one it's on the corner of Broadway & hurrmppfff ) & then find out from the woman i'd loaned my other bike to & asked for it back 4 months ago that it had been stolen 3 months ago... this was the bike that was on the front of the bus coming back in the dark from Burning Man last year on the 395 when i hit the deer that was knocked into my lane by the oncoming fresh-off-the-lot white pickup truck... i had to drag her broken deer body still warm out of the road so no one else would hit her... the wheels of the bike were bent & wobbly marked with deer medicine: gentleness... this all comes in the context of the events of last month when after having lived on the block for over 10 years out of the blue i go out the day before street cleaning to move the bus & it's gone i rode around on my bike looking for it thinking i must have somehow forgot where i put it i even chided myself for being so absorb in the work that i forgot where i put my car i finally accept the fact that it's gone along with the suitcase of one of a kind manuscripts & call to report it stolen... find out they towed it from the middle of the block for being parked in the same spot for longer than 72 hours... because one of my neighbors a really nice Scottish tenor/math tutor with a pomegranate tree in his yard he planted 25 years ago from seed had been complaining of boardwalk vendors parking storage vehicles on the street i try not to drive much & use my bike...used my bike to get around... $300 to the LAPD to get back my bus... so i can put up the artwork the next day at AGAPE Spiritual Center for their next 3 month artshow... so today i wait 'til noon in a "hey we'll leave you alone after noon on Monday" space at 6 minutes 'til noon the parking enforcement rolls by again & keeps on rolling as i'm sitting in the drivers seat... then i stroll to the boardwalk to kinda see if there might be a space for me to set up not that i feel like working out there any more it has not been working on many levels for months... after a while i had to ask what's the best use of my time all the signs are pointing at some sort of graduation... gotta move out in two weeks & need to finish writing the autobiography that i've been working on since Christmas & as of this morning i'm finally up to the summer of '06 just a year & a half left to write about... now i've kind of gotten my self in a pickle it's just been confirmed that the boardwalk as we've all come to know it will be ending on may 10th as it goes through yet another in a long series of convulsions of being screwed up by the people that work in offices that have no idea what makes the boardwalk work but think they do & have the power to work their will & make others deal with their view of reality... until the next convulsion... this time it's a federal judge who loves performers & has given 200 spaces on the boardwalk to performance when there are 20 performers & 103 spaces to every one else & there are several hundred of those depending on the season... everything in the performance spaces must be by donation only threat of $500 tickets for violation (except books, CD's , & DVD's of & by the performer so maybe if i could afford an inventory of the 7 books i've published since Sept. i could then make out) so if someone comes up & wants to take your work for nothing the judge is saying you have to give it to them... can you say l a w s u i t...? so end of that income not that it has been working but no new income coming... no new doors opening to take care of the immediate concerns & owing a serious chunk of change, more than i ever have, & two parking tickets & new registration & Hawaii drivers license renewal have to move out on may 1st... where to store all the paintings bus needs a new battery & a tune up & where am i going? & with what...? in an effort to finish the book i've gotten into this odd time cycle by writing all night 'til 5am then trying to get 6-8 hours then jumping back into it as soon as i wake up... so i've been writing 12 to 15 hours a day for the better part of the past 2 weeks... before that i was writing from when i came in from the boardwalk 5- 7pm until 3-5 am...for 3 months... this is the context in which i wrote the words: "the path with heart the true path is beyond fear..." ? over the weekend i noticed this line in my right hand i had never seen before this big strait-as -a -ruler line from the nexus of lines at my lower palm to my pinky i looked it up on the web says the pinky is the Mercury finger a line like that could mean issues to do with health, commerce, &/or communications business opportunities... getting ones message out to the world... i don't usually pay attentions to such things but dang this line is like a big "what the F*****K is that" thing ...am i gonna live doc am i gonna live...???? so i ask a friend who is a "hand analyst" & she confirms what it says on the web... & that the fact that it's happening while i'm typing the book is the key... so then i read this thing she writes to me about this being all for me to get the point or the cherry of this process... because as i get the point of this process then i can best share it with the world... & it suddenly occurs to me that i may just be doing this whole thing for my self... ????????? that had not occurred to me... i was thinking i was creating something of benefit to others but that could be a conceit... as i came back to my room the gentle man across the hall apologized to me... i had to ask for what... & he said that he had had a relapse... & i said at what... he said he thought it had been hardest on me... that he basically lock himself in his room the past few weeks doing coke... i said i had no idea..he was surprised i didn't notice... not that i know this man but to say hello in the hall he's an old rock /jazz drummer he stays up late but then so do i... & i thought what's the difference in a way i have also been sequestering my self in a room immersed in me & my life from beginning to end top to bottom...reexamining the facts as i see them... how odd i have been so consumed in the same way as this man with my own little drama that i've put the world on hold 'til i'm done...recording my navel gazing... it occurs to me how odd what a weird coincidence we're both responding to the same vibe to use this time to focus with focused blindness our full attention on the chosen task... ok so who influenced who... i know the universe loves me & is taking very good care of me the reason i wrote that line about the true path is that focusing on & executing the completion of this project has been where the light is... but then i suppose the coke addict would say the same about getting & doing more coke... even though i've described this process to whomever would listen as feeling like performing abdominal surgery on yourself without benefit of anesthesia your hands all up in there covered in you as you reach around groping up in there trying to put your bloody finger on it grasp at it & finally & definitively grasp it ...bring it out into the light for the world to see & take a good look at... 'til you get it all out...all of it...the heck out... not done 'til you do... i wrote to a friend that "i am so far into this now that the only way out is through..." but really i have felt in the moments when i'm working on this that i'm moving forward... getting it done & having it done is the yummy part full of light... make your own light ? while everything else feels like it's falling away dark yukky or just done... interesting place to find oneself wonder what comes next... well here's another gem from the vault of davidismz that may apply here: "...the closer we get to the truth the easier it is to kid our selves..." ? the fact that i'm meeting the challenges & resistance at the end of the hall...the end of the project may mean i'm closing in on the goal... & deluding myself at the same time... ahh the splendid paradox what brilliance & genius loves to squish between the toes ahh & here we come to it my attachment is to recognition of brilliance & genius... i've been seeking this my whole life through everything i've done yet recently when i've heard people express that recognition i've missed it i haven't entirely taken it in in part because i feel i haven't yet arrived because if i had surely fame & fortune wealth & prosperity & financial independence would follow... & ease lest we not forget ease... but as i go down that list i feel in a way i already have all that at this very moment i am famous & fortunate wealthy & prosperous & financially independent & living in the red... not a clue where it comes from next as usual yet knowing from experience it comes from within & the universe would not leave me hanging unless there was some good to it... now if i was living in the black? & had all my bases covered money wise then ease would be just multiplied because i already feel like i got the ease thing going on any more laid back & i'll be laying on the ground i would feel all confident & justified in my choices instead of the netherworld & free fall the queasiness & uneasiness of unsure & insecure & self doubt about how it all will work out without an ouch somewhere in there... as i look it appears i may be finding myself in retreat while feeling like it's time to advance but how to advance...? oh then there's worry the proof of the path is in it's fruits "by their fruits ye shall know them" i thought if what i was doing was a good thing it would be generating light & wealth not parking tickets, bills, & dead ends... but the bottom line is it feels so blessedly good to be letting die what needs to right now... worry is there & as worry will it is biting at my butt but if there is one thing i know how to do if there is one thing this life has taught me so far it's how to live well & worry too... how to be a good worrier...(warrior? no worrier) i got this one step back lemme at it... recently i was told in an accusing way that i was too self absorbed this by someone i've known for 15 years as one of the most self absorbed people i've ever met totally dedicated to her path & consumed with her journey... but in pondering the blessed accusation examining it for merit if one is to be the thing itself the genuine article how do you give your work your all & not be self absorbed how do you be the work...live the work & not be... from my experience the path is not even about being loved getting love or keeping love but being love enough to complete the mission no matter what & the mission is life the mission is to do what one is born to do if that's being self absorbed then that would be me life of the artist... thank you love d

“…last time I was back home I heard this story that was supposedly in the Cape Cod Times a few weeks before I got there that summer… way down Cape… they found the footprints of an old woman leading down to the water from her cane she’d left standing…decidedly stuck in the sand…of the National Seashore… the picture of an old soul finished here in this body…swimming out past the break…swimming for the deep…swimming passed the past…swimming for the old body to give out…swimming to choose the day & the hour rather than wait for death…to go meet it…tempt it…toy with it…dare it…to cheat death of the satisfaction of taking away something precious one might not be ready to part with…while others right now may or may not be clinging onto…grasping onto any thin hope to prolong life…to stave off the inevitable visit of ones end…bargaining with god…promising in fear…fingernail clawing for any shred of life kicking & screaming for more life more light more breath… …to swim out to sea rather than remain an old woman in America... ...to swim out through the cold chill waters ‘til the numbness comes over your skull & your heart rather than remain an old woman on earth just after the turn of the Millennium…”

sign...? so i'm driving back from the valley a meeting with my licensing Agent where we've been talking about plans for THE SACRED GEOMETRY PAINTINGS traveling exhibitions [along the lines of "ashes & snow"] & permanent exhibition space; my new world flag; the SACRED GEOMETRY TSHIRT line & even developing my name DAVID ALEXANDER ENGLISH as a brand to further promote the work so it all has a life of it's own beyond me... i was driving up Topanga Canyon Road from the valley to the beach & as i reached the top of the road the point just before: "...it's all down hill from here..." there in the middle of my lane i see a glimmer of big flapping wings... & my first thought is "oh no... i hope it's not a bird that's been hit..." & as i pass out of the direct sunlight & into the shadow of the hilltop i can see & come to a complete stop... look in the mirror at the whole line of cars behind me but what can you do... there right in front of me is a hawk that's caught a snake in it's claw... the snake is still alive but not for long... the hawk pauses to make sure of my intentions in coming to a stop otherwise it would have to flee leaving the snake but when it sees that i will wait it gets a better grasp of the snake & flies a short distance out of the roadway... hawk medicine is the messenger of change... serpent is the 2nd phase of the Scorpionic archetype of the sorcerer... scorpio/pluto/ & the 8th house: divine communion through sex, death, transformation & rebirth hidden knowledge, shared resources, power, immortality, reveling in the Great Mystery & sharing out it's secrets... the 3rd phase is the Eagle... the 4th is the Phoenix... i found myself whooping...

"…met a young man with a backpack & a bedroll today on the boardwalk who had just got into town from Tucson…his face literally looked like it had been flattened or even pushed in…his nose was flattened with no cartilage pushing it out…we struck up a conversation…we ended up laughing for a good 15 minutes so hard my sides hurt…he said his jaw was a $50,000 jaw…it was made from a bone in his calf…when I asked him what happened he said he had tried to shoot himself…he said he usually makes something up… …he then showed me another scare around his adam’s apple where he’d accidently shot himself in the throat…he said it was from a bullet that ricocheted directly right back at him on a shooting range…this was after trying to kill himself the first time…all the while he’s telling me this stuff we’re laughing…he then tells me he’s been in 17 car accidents…I said, "you’ll forgive me if I don’t ride with you…" I asked how long he had been in town he said 2 days…he had been living at this brothers fancy house in Tucson who had two kids...then that brother had gotten caught stealing a laptop...he said he felt then that he had to leave because he wasn’t a thief & didn’t want to be connected to all that...he had just come from doing two stand-up comedy shows at the Comedy Store…he said he’d done well the first time but had bombed the 2nd because he was fullof himself from doing well the first time & had been drinking...he was real excited because he’d gotten Pauly Shore’s autograph...I noticed he also had a funky left arm…I was trying to figure out how that got in on the shooting …he said the arm was a birth defect…he said sometimes he feels like god’s hackysack…amen…"

up my artwork when suddenly this loose cloud of bees the survivors from the fire dept. spraying them out of a palm tree on the bike path near the public bathrooms the afternoon before came buzzing around & round in the middle of the boardwalk people stopped to watch what was happening a small crowd was soon gathered everyone talking at once about their theory or their trauma chattering in ever increasing concern & wonderment like kids let out on a snowday... as the bees sought to coalesce somewhere an agitated scattered cloud looking for a place to land... i had a feeling they were honey bees not that i'm an expert i closed my eyes began to chant under my breath the "..hu..." mantra [ pronounced just like the word ".. hue..", i'm told it means: the light & sound of god] i've found this tends to make most situations resolve for the better i pictured in my mind where would be the best place for the bees to form a new hive away from all the people that might remain undisturbed in the neighborhood immediately i saw a place under these big old trees on the unused corner of the dog park about a block away... i open my eyes and see the cloud of bees that had been working its way from north to south down the boardwalk had begun to land on the base of the palm tree right next to my bike 10 feet away from me and on an old wooden chair someone had left there only since yesterday as i'd seen it here & there around the beach for the past few weeks and now was fast becoming the new home of a couple hundred bees who i reasoned had probably lost their queen to the fire dept. raid the day before now needed to coalesce & create a new queen to rebuild the hive... while the energy of the bees was that of a heightened agitation but not threatening the reactions of all the people around went from very distressed to panic to wonderment and curiosity 'cuz you just don't see much wild life but seagulls & pigeons round these parts... it occurred to me that when enough of the bees landed on the chair that one could move the chair & i said this to one of the other folks standing around he said," you should do that .." just the right encouragement so i walked over in the midst of all the humans hubbubbing & slowly picked up the chair with a couple hundred people watching but instead of following my first vision i just slowly walked it the thirty paces to the top of the little hill there & set it down thinking at least its off the boardwalk & now the city of los angeles, city of eighteen million people must surely have some beekeeper people to come deal with stuff like this... a little while later the fire dept. came with their big truck they looked like boys from the playground called to help get a cat out of a tree a funny situation needing to be dealt with competently i walked over to find out what they planned to do i introduced myself as the person who move the chair to the top of the hill they said they wouldn't do anything but wait for vector control [?]to arrive i assumed vector control was the city bee keeper people but a few moments latter they asked me to move my stuff it turned out so they could back their engine into my space to get get closer to the hill turns out the commander of the fire engine decided so they wouldn't have to be called again to deal with this they would try to spray the bees on the chair with this foam that would make it hard for them to fly & they would die they said so the big burly firemen hosed down the chair knocking it over & leaving a big pile of foam in the grass to melt away in the sun... after they leave the parks & recs people come & put three big green 55 gallon barrel garbage cans in a wide triangle around the scene of the bee massacre by foam & rope it off with that yellow police barrier caution tape.. & i feel like yuk an accomplice i wished that i had followed my first vision then a few moments latter a second chance: when the parks & rec people deployed the garbage cans they'd put them facing down so no one could use then i guess the bees that had still been airborne when the massacre took place had now coalesced on what i guessed was some sugar left by dried soda or candy on the side of the can set closest to the boardwalk there were enough of them to be called a swarm but their swarm covered over the yellow police tape i walked up there carefully broke the police tape in two places & tied a knot while maintaining tension on it so as not to disturb the remaining bees... then i picked up the garbage can over my head & slowly walked it down the hill one block north on the boardwalk then one block up towards the dogpark i chanced to happen upon a friend as i was walking up the middle of the street carrying the can over my head he looked at me kind strange asked what are you doing the bees were so quiet i couldn't tell if they were still there so i ask him "..is there a whole lot of bees on the top of the garbage can.." he takes a look & kind of stunned says yeah... i come to the top of the street wait for the light to change walk the can across the street to the shaded canopy of the old trees in a corner of the park away from the dogs fenced in area then set the can down ... i went back to my stuff continued setting up for the day & heard more than one person mumble something about "..the bee whisperer..." now we come to the interesting part: a little while later bees started buzzing around the base of that palm tree near my bike & where the chair had been before i moved it i guessed they we attracted by the remnants of pheromones the hive had begun to put out to tell them all to land on the chair initially i guessed these latecomer bees probably missed the drama of the massacre & the move to the dogpark & so i pictured a path of light & pheromones leading from the spot at the base of the palm tree to the garbage can i left in the dogpark for them to find their way home... well one of these bees flew right at my face right between my eyes in that instant i pictured the golden ribbon of light leading to the rest of the hive in the dogpark & the bee flew strait in that direction literally making a beeline... for the rest of the day i repeated this visualization whenever i saw bees buzzing around the base of that palm & they appeared to head off in the direction of the dogpark... few days latter i went up on the hill & saw all the dead bee carcases decaying into the grass... a few days ago i went to do my daily headstand in a patch of blooming clover near the site of the incident & there was a bee that looked like the same variety harvesting clover nectar... yesterday i drove by the dogpark & that green garbage can is still there a few yards from where i'd left it...

another moment in life on venice beach

today was a beautiful fall day on venice boardwalk i was painting a peice in gold & blue inspired by one of this past summers cropcircles... a customer came up and was checking out the work we started talking about art and astrology just then i looked past her & saw this short overweight man in his mid to late 50's homeless who i've seen over the past few months shuffling along with a little backpack with all these little bags dangling off it mummbling to himself usually real agro and occasionally yelling real agressive angry things at no one physically present.. at this moment though i notice he turned yelled real angry to no one something like: "..oh yeah bitch, take that.." and in just 2 seconds cut his left forearm from just below the elbow down to his wrist 3 or 4 times with an orange boxcutter then turned back around & kept wandering south now staring at the blood flowing down his arm as though he'd just discovered a real unusual bug had just landed there i'm thinking that is way gonna hurt he must have just sliced through veins & arteries costly wound to heal on the street i took out my phone & called 911 told the operator the story stressing the need for a police response when she put me on with the paramedic dispatch meanwhile the man had started wandering back north up the boardwalk & when he got so far i couldn't easily see him i began to follow while i'm talking on the phone giving description & location to them both twice then we hang up he by now had wandered almost 3 blocks north of the incident listening to his little hand held radio, mummbling and woddling along a little to the left a little to the right the small bags dangling swinging to his woddle as i trailed him from a block away i kept looking back south on the boardwalk in the direction of the police substation to see if the police cruiser i'd seen there earlier had begun to respond suddenly i saw a police pick-up drive up to the boardwalk from off the beach about a block south of me & ran back towards them as my phone vibrated in my pocket just then a police heliocopter arrives overhead i answer & its the 911 operator asking my location just then i approached the police unit i tell them the story details & description while i can hear them relaying the description to the heliocopter i say i can just point him out to you he's a few blocks away now áfter making sure the description gets communicated they say o.k and load up i start running north up the boardwalk and see the emt has arrived & is waiting and at every cross street for the next 3 blocks there is a police car just now turning onto the boardwalk & the heliocopter noisily overhead slowly moving north and im running looking for the little man with the bleeding arm & little bags dangling... and there he is turning around to face 3 police cars as i see the officer i first spoke with drawing a taser in a semi crouch a block ahead of me... walking back to my setup couple local people ask me what happened guess they're not used to seeing me running in my flipflops down the boardwalk passing joggers while talking on my cellphone i notice there's a message on my voice mail from 911 asking for help locating the brother when i get back to where i have all my paintings displayed i'm pleased to see the young woman is still checking out the work we carry on with the astrology conversation... couple hours latter as i'm packing up i get a call from the l.a.p.d. nutcase unit asking for particulars we had a good chat i said i was surprised at the response with the heliocopter & all the cops but i guessed that since 9/11 you say "boxcutter" and it tends to get peoples attention we both laughed the funny but not so funny laugh glad there are people trained to deal with this stuff they had him under observation his arm had been treated but he said they were gonna have a closer look in a little while they were waiting for any background psyche records on the brother we said thanks & wished one another well...

THE ALTERNATIVE ENERGIES MARSHALL PLAN the problem: is with a president who is a texas oil man & a vice president the former CEO of haliburton the worlds largest supplier of infrastructure to the oil industry there is no incentive to find any solution or resolution to any crisis in the middle east or any instability anywhere in the world from Nigeria to Venezuela Uzbekistan to Iran, Sudan to Columbia Brazil to Malaysia to Lebanon to even the Alaska NATIONAL wildlife preserve, the slow comeback of the gulf coast & the strategy of limiting oil refinery capacity in the US insuring rumours of rolling blackout in California, the 5th largest economy in the world... rumors of limits, shortages, long gas pump lines & high prices keep gas pump prices high.. what incentive do oil producers from texas to Dubai have to keep prices low..? NONE low gas prices is what drove failing young oilman george w.bush & his oilman contemporaries to join the midland texas bible study group become born again & stop drinking & drugging low gas prices cause domestic oil producers to cap wells 'til the price goes up... well they've certainly enjoyed the benefits of having one their own god fearing, born again christian texas oil men in the whitehouse playing the roll of the hothead unreasonable, unpredictable wildcat/ cowboy/ christian crusader/avenger/ loose canon... the more uncertainty there is or merely appears to be with the oil producing nations of the world the higher gas prices will stay rumors of war serve as good as actual armed conflict as an excuse in the justification for keeping the price of a barrel of oil high... who are the main beneficiaries but Canada, the texans, the arabs, the russians a handful of third world bureaucrats, oil commodity trading firms, & their stockholders.. the gross ineptitude & inadequacy the the bush administration has made of US foreign policy through bullying & blundering; the media parroting the abstract concept of an endless war on terrorism through the daily repetition of the words "war", "terror", "threat", & "fear"; [hurricanes, tidal waves, & natural disasters.. all bonus mayhem] serve to create an atmosphere of instability that in turn helps to justify high gas prices... basically these people have no incentive to do the right thing except to appear to be doing the right thing to justify doing little more than helping their friends make as much money as they can out of the status quo while they can before either the oil runs out, they all get run out of office, or technology changes the playing field which ever comes first.. the one thing these folks didn't count on is fear fatigue where people just get tired of being afraid & seek to silence the fearmongers the result of the midterm elections... wars stop when enough people get tired enough to stop participating in them the goal of those behind the insurgencies in iraq is to create enough kaos, hopelessness, & despair for the US and all western influence to leave in enough disgrace to think thrice about returning to meddle in middle eastern/ Arab/ Muslim affairs ever again and then establish a ultra conservative global Muslim theocracy based on a strict interpretation of the Koran... [hence the execution by the insurgencies of barbers: beards are good shaving is bad to the conservatives.. doctors: western medicine -bad professors: western training -bad school teachers: western influences -bad like educating women.. -an abomination blowing up schools: more fighting against western influence such execution serve the added goal of sending a clear message of intolerance for those who would stay & inspiring all the other western leaning to become refugees/ messengers of fear...] stability works against this strategy but as the old saying goes it takes a carpenters' sweat, skill, & time to build a barn but a jackass but a second to knock it down it's easier to create kaos than to maintain stability... it appears easier for some to take life that to nurture & nourish it to hope earthly hope it appears easier to some to be about death than to live it appears easier for some to make war & villains of our fellows than to do the work necessary to create & maintain a healthy environment that includes tolerance & dissent given all this the solution is in ending the argument through technological advancement imagine if the people of the united states & all other like minded countries chose to lead the world in discovering & implementing alternative energies innovations, completely focusing our national energies on totally ending the dependency of our global economies & technologies on oil through a grassroots technological revolution resulting in the adoption & creation of a completely non oil based economy then that would take away oil as an excuse, a bargaining chip, a hostage, a carrot, a reason or justification for wars & supporting dictatorships co opting our own stated democratic principles by denying freedom of democratic self determination to other peoples & developing nations due to economic expediency & imperative: i.e."..but we needed the oil..." the result: the success of our technological undertaking through THE ALTERNATIVE ENERGIES MARSHALL PLAN: those whose economies & politics depend on the maintenance of the status quo with regards to oil both in the middle east & elsewhere would be left with the argument & not much else... for at the moment the argument is financed through oil "..living well is the best revenge.." the old saying goes if we want to win the war exit the argument it's based on what would an alternative energies Marshall plan look like? a. tax incentives & subsidies for research, development implementation, purchasing alternative energies based vehicles, power, heating & cooling systems for home & industry b. increased funding for existing national laboratories specifically for the development of alternative energies.. c. the establishment of 8 new regional centers for alternative energy research, development, & implementation.. d. matching federal funds for state centers of alternative energy research, development, & implementation.. e. annual national & international conferences for alternative energies research, development, & implementation.. [model: world economic forum] f. federal & state [& even united nations] sponsorship of an annual design competition for grants for individuals, organizations, & corporations for alternative energies research, development, & implementation.. g. the establishment of both a national endowment & a national academy for alternative energies research, development, & implementation.. h. establishment of the department of alternative energies research, development, & implementation. with a cabinet level post.. such an undertaking as this initiative focuses on our strengths as a nation what america is famous for: technological innovation, organization, pioneering design, & capitalization.. we owe this to our children to do everything we can do to leave the world better than we found it ecologically we would be the first generation to do so... any presidential candidate who would advocate THE ALTERNATIVE ENERGIES MARSHALL PLAN would be a beacon for all those who would like to embrace a future of global prosperity beyond the excuses maintained & routinely served up for the past century by the dinosaurs of the limited pie view to justify screwing some group of the human race so that one small group of humans could own & control all of the global resources to do with as they please for the benefit of just them & their friends.. this view & mindset is inevitably & irreversibly dying now because it is fundamentally flawed by being based on erroneous notions like everything isn't connected that there is such a thing as trash in the cosmic sense that one can actually throw something away on this planet & not have it effect something else that one person could ever be better than or worse than another in the eyes of the divine merely by being better off or worse off financially.. that because someone is said to legally own the earth that that gives them carte blanche to do whatever they like with it even if that means chopping down the last tree or driving the last species to extinction all for personal financial gain over the needs of the whole system from the ecological to the spiritual from the earth to the stars.. put another more positive way: imagine that the world we live in today is evolving into a globally aware, energy sensitive, species conscious world based on respect for & recognition of the natural precepts of the infinite universe like: everything is connected to everything else it's a whole system everything is energy everything is light & vibration everything is awake & alive everything matters everything counts somehow the universe loves everyone equally every soul born is welcome in the universe & by the universe for however long the universe determines every soul born deserves to be here and is equally entitled to enjoy the full benefits of the natural resources of the universe what happens to one happens to all [example:no hording allowed or necessary because it hurts everyone including the hoarder who is stuck on the illusion of a reality of lack in an infinite universe] true happiness is to be found in willfully sharing the journey realizing fellowship recognising spiritual kinship.. growth even spiritual growth comes through the choice of empathy & the earthly practise of compassion.. for a moment just imagine an entire world based on the notion that the universe is love...

james brown, gerald ford, saddam hussein dot dot dot goes 2006 james brown gerald ford saddam hussein who would've thought these three would be so linked the cosmic joke at play again this could happen to you the godfather of soul oatmeal man & the butcher of bagdad for all those who say things happen in threes there you go a year we'll look back on & say dang that was a tough one people will not be sad to see this one go as we all seem to be genuinely looking forward to 2007 for some kind of deliverance from a tough year in a series of tough years not coincidentally beginning with geo. w. bush's reign the best thing that happened this year beside donald rumsfeld resigning is the party of hubris got its come-up-ence the pres. who sought to rule by force of will by being the bully over the whole world got put in his place in so many ways & now has been forced to play fair & let others play with his ball... i'm optimistic as usual i feeel there are great things happening gerald & james were done full lives fine examples aside from the ethical questions of the compassion of capital punishment saddam the black sheep of the family will go down as yet another shabby example of the petty despot the age old tale of meteoric rise to personal folly leading to national disgrace as if we haven't seen enough like pinochet i feel humanity has come to some consensus we could call it the first general consensus of the new millennium & it goes something like this : dictatorship in any form is a crime against humanity punishable by fate, destiny, delusion & disgrace... the world community is complicite in this crime by coddling the would-be dictators... good idea not to raise our kids to be dictators not much future in it good idea to raise our kids to be soul music icons & one of the last best examples of president as public servants...
