</a>
<div>i'm driving up to texada from the lower sunshine coast and have room for two passengers (or three if people are small and baggage is minimal... i drive a subaru stn. wagon so there is a reasonable amount of space.)

i can pick you up from the langdale ferry terminal if you're coming from vancouver or elsewhere.

gas and ferry costs shared (incl. passenger ferry fare) are approx.:
2 people: $80 each
3 people: $60 each
4 people: $50 each

email or pm me! hoping to leave early morning friday july 11th. (which means if you're coming from horseshoe bay you will hopefully be on the 1rst or 2nd ferry...)

ps - looking into a boat trip departure from the sunshine coast as well... but we likely need a good number of people to make it doable financially... let me know if that interests you!</div>

<div>my friend erik is organizing a boat cruise to and from diversity. the cost is dependent on number of people, likely somewhere between $75 - $100 return. this is a very nice 50' yacht! and the price is cheaper than all that gas and ferries expenses.

if you are interested please contact me ASAP as erik needs to book and make a deposit in the next few days. so far there are 10 confirmed and 6 possibles... this will be a really awesome way to travel to and from the festival, come join us!

the cruise departs from vancouver but will likely be able to make a pick-up in gibsons.</div>

<div>i've never been to a concert at bc place stadium, and i haven't been to a stadium concert in many many years! but now i have the opportunity to go, and i have a choice of seating as well.

so here's the survey...

looking st the above seating chart, which of the following would you choose, and why?

1rst choice - floor seating, section C3, row 13
2nd choice - section 7, row B

floor seating sounds great, but can you see the stage above all the heads on the floor in front of you? section 7 row B sounds tempting, because it puts you only 2 rows above the floor, possibly high enough to clear the heads, but still close enough to the "action"...

or where would your choice seats be? (aside from section A which are all usually out of reach financially)</div>

To celebrate Earth Day, Black Cat Productions presents Earth Day Film Night with a screening of the award-winning documentary Garbage Warrior.

Garbage Warrior is a feature-length documentary film telling the epic story of maverick architect Michael Reynolds, founder and director of Earthship Biotecture, his crew of renegade house builders from New Mexico, and their fight to introduce radically different ways of living.

Imagine a home that heats itself, that provides its own water, that grows its own food. Imagine that it needs no expensive technology, that it recycles its own waste, that it has its own power source. And now imagine that it can be built anywhere, by anyone, out of the things society throws away. Thirty years ago, architect Michael Reynolds imagined just such a home - then set out to build it. A visionary in the classic American mode, Reynolds has been fighting ever since to bring his concept to the public. He believes that in an age of ecological instability and impending natural disaster, his buildings can - and will - change the way we live.

Shot over three years in the USA, India and Mexico, Garbage Warrior is a snapshot of contemporary geo-politics and an inspirational tale of triumph over bureaucracy. Garbage Warrior is above all an intimate portrait of an extraordinary individual and his dream of changing the world.

Garbage Warrior won the 2007 People's Choice Award for Most Popular International Documentary at the Vancouver International Film Festival.

										<div>UFO Snapped Over Thames

By SEBASTIAN LANDER

A STUDENT was left shocked when she checked her tourist snaps of the London skyline - and spotted what looks like a flying saucer.

University Of Exeter academic Karolina-Slavka Mueller was in London for the weekend, when she took some shots with her camera phone of the sights.

But when she looked back at the January 19 night time pictures of Tower Bridge and the London Eye, she was shocked to see an apparent UFO.

And experts claim it is the real thing.

Karolina said in an email: "What's very strange about this is the fact that we didn't actually see this object in the sky while I was taking the photos.

"I only discovered it once I loaded the photos onto my computer as I didn't even look at the photos until then."

The images - taken around 3.50am - were taken eight minutes apart as Karolina and two pals drove through Central London.

The apparent UFO is at an angle and appears to emit a mysterious blue light.

Karolina added: "None of us can come up with a reasonable answer to what this might have been.

"One of my friends, the driver, has grown up in London and he can't find a reasonable answer.

"He says he's never seen anything like it and that there definitely isn't any building in this area that could look like this."

UFO experts have been left scratching their heads over the sighting.

Editor, cameraman and UFO researcher Chris Martin said: "I was looking for evidence that these have been fabricated.

"I couldn't find any evidence. It's unprecedented because she produced three pictures, which seems to show it's flying.

"My own evaluation is that these photographs are genuine and have not been digitally manipulated or hoaxed."

He added: "These photos are, in my opinion as a UFO researcher, absolutely astounding and show a real object seemingly under intelligent control.

"This is a classic flying saucer-shaped UFO."

A Ministry of Defence spokesperson did not comment on the sighting, saying: "The MoD examines reports solely to establish whether UK airspace may have been compromisedby hostile or unauthorised military activity.

"Unless there is evidence of a potential threat, there is no attempt to identify the nature of each sighting reported."

Source at U.N. tells of secret UFO meeting February 12, 2008

<div>Source at U.N. tells of secret UFO meeting February 12, 2008

I received the following email from two trusted colleagues (Clay and Shawn Pickering) regarding a reliable source informing them that a secret meeting occurred yesterday morning (Feb 12) at the New York office of the United Nations concerning the recent spate of UFO sightings. It appears that a number of nation states are concerned about the impact of increased UFO sightings and wish to be briefed about what is happening. Their source, who currently works in the diplomatic corps, had to travel for an early morning off the record meeting at the UN. Their source revealed that a secret UFO working group exists that is authorizing the release of such information to the public, in an effort to acclimate others to what is about to unfold. A date of 2013 was given as the time for official disclosure and/or when extraterrestrials show up in an unambiguous way. In the interim there will be acclimation related releases of information. Importantly, the source revealed that the events leading up to official disclosure will involve more ethically oriented extraterrestrials, and they will not pose a military threat to the world.

The information below may be related to the recent debate in the Japanese parliament and statements by the Defense Minister over how Japan would respond to extraterrestrials appearing over Japanese airspace that display peaceful intent. It appears nation states are moving forward in developing public policy on how to respond to extraterrestrials showing up. So if the information below is accurate, then it is likely that we will see more examples of governments making official statements concerning how they would respond to extraterrestrials that show up over their airspace. It is likely that parliamentarians around the world will start receiving briefings to help them develop public policy concerning extraterrestrial life. Such briefings will probably extend to prominent media sources who will give more coverage to UFO sightings in popular media outlets such as Larry King Live. Increased media reports will first likely lead to disclosures of secret antigravity technologies that have been withheld for over 50 years, as a prelude to official disclsoure of extraterresrial life. The source's reference to suicides is probably related to those who will learn that much of what they have learned and believed over a lifetime was a lie. The 1961 Brookings Report referred to scientists as being most vulnerable to the disclosure of extraterrestrial life since it will make redundant many of the cherished scientific theories and models held by this community.

Overall, it appears that a countdown is underway to official disclosure around 2013, and that nation states and the UN are being briefed. The acclimation process will accelerate over the next five years as UFO sightings increase around the globe forcing governments to make public policy statements on UFOs and extraterrestrial life.

Subject: Source at U.N. tells of secret UFO meeting February 12, 2008

Dear Mike,

Shawn and I met with our source who currently works ... [in the Diplomatic Corps]. We had discussed various topics when the Stephenville and O'Hare UFO's cases were brought up. Shawn, actually, brought up the cases--"what's the deal with these incidents? Why is Stephenville getting so much press? "...etc...etc. Our source did not answer the questions immediately and other topics were discussed. About 5 minutes later, our source said to us, "Notice I did not answer your UFO questions." Shawn stated to him that we felt he wasn't interested in answering. Our source stated, "not at all." He took a breath and responded, "Unfortunately I can't go into it, but getting up tomorrow (February 12) at 6 AM to attend a briefing at the UN at 8AM is highly unusual. I (Clay) asked, "Does the briefing tomorrow have anything to do with these UFO incidents?" Our source said he could neither confirm nor deny, hint, hint. He stated that an 8AM briefing simply did not happen, unless these was a pressing need. Shawn and I probed him as best we could without forcing him to compromise his security issues. Our source stated:

1) UN is an international organization. Clay stated, "Therefore the briefing has do with other
nation-states in context to sightings?" Our source affirmed.

2) Shawn stated, "Then there have been other incidents around the world, like
Stephenville case?"

At that point, our source got up and made a phone call and returned within 2 minutes. Our source stated, "Out of professional courtesy, I made a phone call to my source and stated, 'mission accomplished.' " He stated to Shawn and I:

1) There is a group he is affiliated with whose task is to release information to certain
sectors of society--i.e., your community (UFO).

2) The briefing had to do with calming the nerves of certain nation-states regarding
sightings.

3) The Russians seem really anxious.

4) The Bush boys (Neo-cons) are anxious about being left out of the loop, when Bush
steps down.

5) Although incidents are occurring around the world, these are NOT "Independence Day"
types. In fact, our source stated that the ships are not as big as the ones portrayed
in the film.

6) When contact is made (officially to the world) there will be no ambiguity.

7) You'll know things are heating up when suicides dramatically increase. A date of 2013
was given. Shawn stated, "Perhaps a meltdown factor." Source nodded yes.

8) Our source was to dress in civilian clothing to put the Russians at ease. They hate
military dress.

9) The civilian dress was to facilitate deniability so as not to implicate the military.

At this point, our source apologized for using us to get this information out. He was doing so at the behest of his superior, an admiral. The admiral stated, "What about these conspiracy guys": Using Shawn and I as a conduit. Our source feels that globalization is an effort to reduced the 200 plus nation-states down to a single entity; at which point, a one
world representative body can present itself to a "galactic federation" type council. ...
Our source said, "get this out there and let me know what your peers feel about this.

<div>aside from the disturbing harrasment Ricky Sorrells is receiving, the journalist covering this story has been fired by the newspaper, the Stephenville Empire-Tribune. this article was her final one in that paper from her investigations about the recent texas ufo sightings.

More twists in the Sorrells' saga
By ANGELIA JOINER Staff Writer

Answers. Ricky Sorrells just wants answers. And, in light of what he's been through, it doesn't seem to be a lot to ask.

Witnessing an unidentified flying object four times since the beginning of the new year, then having military aircraft whizzing over his land and disrupting his sleep and livestock, followed by a string of mysterious phone calls and in person encounters from individuals demanding he “shut up” about what he saw, and landing unexpectedly in the international spotlight, has taken a toll on the 37-year-old man accustomed to the simple life.

“If you told me a while back that I would be sitting here talking to you about UFOs I would have said, ‘No way, not in a million years,” Sorrells said. “ Now, I know for the rest of my life I'll keep looking to find out what it was.”

Sorrells said he is receiving a lot of support from family and friends helping him to keep an eye on things. He said that support has been a great help to him.

“I'm not going to freak out or anything,” Sorrells said. “I just think the government should come forward and help us to figure out this thing. I think people should write to their congressman or something.”

Sorrells said soon after his Associated Press interview went around the world in mid-January - not only was he allegedly contacted by a Lt. Colonel telling him to keep quiet about what he saw, he was also contacted by a woman named Linda Moulton Howe.

Howe's Web site touts: “Earthfiles is a crossroads where experts, eyewitnesses and viewers meet to share the latest updates in earth and astronomical mysteries, in-depth reports that go beyond the 6 o'clock news. Earthfiles reporter and editor, Linda Moulton Howe, is an Emmy Award-winning TV producer, investigative reporter and author who goes directly to the men and women at the forefront of science and environmental challenges and to firsthand eyewitnesses of high strangeness. Earthfiles.com received the 2006 W3 Silver Award for excellence in news category. Earthfiles.com also received the 2003 WebAward for Standard of Excellence and the 2000 Encyclopedia Britannica Award honoring Internet excellence.”

Sorrells said he vaguely remembered listening to her on a radio program years ago while on a road trip and her name clicked with him. It was the only familiar name he knew and she promised to do an investigation so he agreed not to talk to anyone else until she could make the trip from New Mexico. Howe arrived in Dublin last week and stayed with Sorrells and his family to conduct the investigation and left late last week.

“I told her everything I knew and showed her my property,” Sorrels said. “After she left, I felt I had honored my commitment with her. Things have settled down a little and I feel free to talk about the experiences I have had. I just didn't want to do anything that would interfere with her investigation because I want the truth.”

He said the last time he saw the object he was able to get a video on his camera phone and said he has seen some other “pretty good footage” taken by others.

One night Sorrells said he had four helicopters flying at such low altitude that when a spotlight was shined up at them from Sorrells' pickup he could see the pilot throw his arm up in front of his eyes to block the light. But there has been another strange occurrence recently on his property that leads him to believe the military is involved. It was an unexpected visitor about 1 a.m. who may have left something behind.

“I was in bed asleep,” Sorrells said. “I keep my bird dogs on the east side of my house and three others on the west side. The black lab doesn't bark until someone comes across the cattle guard and the Catahoula doesn't bark until she actually sees someone. They were all barking so I got up to see what was going on.”

Sorrells said he walked to his bedroom window and looked out to the top of his driveway - he saw someone.

“I went around the bed and grabbed my rifle,” Sorrells said.

His family was still sleeping, so with one hand on his gun and one hand on his backdoor knob, he peered through the window of the door to see if he could spot the intruder again.

“He had positioned himself in between the car and the pickup 40 to 50 feet from my back door,” Sorrells said. “He stood staring at me rocking back and forth. I didn't think his feet were moving but the next morning when looking at his tracks I could tell they were.”

Sorrels said it was cold and misting rain and it was obvious the guy was “dressed for the elements with a heavy parka-like coat.”

He said he strained to see if the man carried a gun but could not see one but could clearly see the face of someone he thought to be in his late 20s or early 30s judging from the way he “walked and acted.”

“I'm trying to decide whether or not to open the door,” Sorrells said. “We're just standing there face to face looking at each other. I'm thinking he's dressed for the elements and the dogs are raising such a ruckus he must know he's in danger of being caught. That's when I realized he wanted me to see him.”

Sorrells said the trespasser had positioned himself in such a way he decided he could be vulnerable if opened his door. He thought of his family and then the man slowly turned and walked into the woods.

“He walked through an area where I'd cleared the brush so apparently he'd been there before because he knew where to go,” Sorrells said.

Sorrells said shortly after the unwelcome caller disappeared the dogs calmed down and he stayed up the rest of the night to keep watch.

Later, when walking through the woods on his property with Howe, he decided to return to a bare spot where his property line ends at a fence.

“It is washed out there and I like to go there to look for deer and turkey tracks.” Sorrells said. He said he's an avid hunter and keeps abreast of the wildlife on his place. He said he had not been to this particular spot in about a month.

“The first thing I saw was a man's footprint,” Sorrells said. “Ms. Howe videotaped me putting my foot beside it. The sun was going down and I saw something shiny.”

Sorrells said he walked over and picked up a bullet - a shiny new 25-06 Remington - with some dotted tarnished smudges.

“I think the man that I saw that night dropped this bullet and the tarnished spots are from the misting rain that night,” Sorrells said. “ I just think it was the military showing me they could get to me if they wanted to.”

Sorrells said he just doesn't think a hunter poaching on his property would've dropped the bullet. He said he doesn't have trouble with poachers. While he knows there is no way to prove it could have been from the same man it's something he keeps mulling over. Sorrells returned home with the bullet in hand and took it apart to look at the powder to see if he could glean any information at all. A local gun and ammunition authority said there was no way to identify if such a bullet was from a military source.

“Talking about military powder is like talking about military gasoline,” he said. “There is no difference.”

Meanwhile, Sorrells said he and other witnesses are considering setting up a Web site to encourage people to do what they can to influence government participation in finding out about the curious, sometimes frightening, sightings.

“I've heard that other countries are releasing information on what they know,” Sorrells said. “We're thinking of calling it (the site) ‘Stephenville Lights.' Too many people have seen something not to try and continue finding out about it. We want to know what it was.” </div>

as you read this webpage, in it's entirety, consider this: it's possible that a breach has occured in the fabric of our dimensional reality. and from this breach more solid connections have occured between our world and others, which exist on frequencies we're unable to "see".

also, is it merely coincidence that these events are all occurring in the vicinity of the bush family ranch?

this world is getting more and more interesting, and unknown, with each passing day...</div>

Black Cat Cinema Returns!

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/db8f38c4-d2b8-4005-b5d0-aeff7d0e800d/blog/7fb7367e-5f7c-4ec7-977d-c5479482f596"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/3be/60a/3be60a73-15fc-4ed6-8db6-f0c9d7e38f65.thumb" width="65" height="13" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>After a few seasons of scheming and planning I'm very happy to announce that Black Cat Cinema is returning to Roberts Creek this Fall with a full and ambitious program of interesting and intriguing films.

Keep your Monday nights free; beginning Mon. Sept. 10 and running weekly, every Monday, until Dec. 17th, I invite you to join us for an evening of film and discussion.

There are a few important changes to make note of:

Films will now be shown at the Roberts Creek Community Hall and NOT the Gumboot Cafe. This move will give us all a lot more space and leg room. As well, the projected image will be much larger, plus, best of all, everyone will be able to see without obstructions! As usual, films will start at 7:30 and doors will open at 7pm.

On that note, I'd like to thank the owners, managers, and staff of the Gumboot Cafe for all their support for alternative film and community-building work over the past few years. Black Cat would not be so popular without the generosity the Gumboot Cafe has shown us.

The other major change is that Black Cat Cinema now falls under the auspices of the Sunshine Coast Film Society as an independent community project. I am grateful for the support of the current President and Board of the SCFS for joining in an alliance, as this will allow us to continue. (And thank you *so much* to all of you who wrote and expressed your support for Black Cat when I was forced to shut down last year; there were so many of you, I am grateful beyond words!)

As a result of the new alliance, BCC film-goers will now require an annual SCFS membership, available for $12 at all our screenings. Single-show memberships are also an option at $3. The admission will be dropped from $6 to $5; this is the same pricing structure as the Film Society.

Black Cat Cinema will continue to show independent and thought-provoking films, from government conspiracy and political issues, to those of a spiritual, artistic, and metaphysical nature. I am extremely excited by the Fall 2007 line-up!

The full schedule of upcoming films will soon be available online, within the next week or so, at http://www.scfs.ca/blackcat.html.

Or look for the Black Cat Cinema brochure at your local cafe and other locations around the Sunshine Coast beginning in the first week of September.

Also, there are a few volunteer opportunities available. I need with set-up and clean-up, help at the door and to sell SCFS memberships, and help with the food and drink concession. Please reply with your phone number and area of interest. Priority will be given to those who can commit to every Monday night on a regular basis, but all offers will be considered. Let me know as soon as you can!

Our first film screening, on Mon. Sept. 10th, will be a documentary that effectively destroys the official explanation of the events surrounding 9-11. More info will be emailed soon, but for now, perhaps check out something a little lighter from the SCFS:

* * * Starlight Film Night * * *

Saturday, August 18th at dusk
(seating at 8:30, show at about 9pm)
Winegarden Waterfront Park, Gibsons Landing
Admission by donation.

The Sunshine Coast Film Society invites the community to pack up beach blankets and lawn chairs and head to Winegarden Waterfront Park in Gibsons Landing for an evening of movies after dark. (You might want to bring a jacket and a flashlight.) There will be popcorn and lawn prizes. Film Society memberships for 2007/8 will also go on sale.

The film program for all ages starts with three episodes of The Beachcombers:
    * Our Champion (1973)
    * Mission at Dawn (1983)
    * Anatomy of an Accident (1985)

Three NFB animated shorts complete the evening:
    * The Balgonie Birdman
    * Village of Idiots
    * Invasion of the Space Lobsters.

http://www.scfs.ca/film/sfn/starlight07.html

Thank you to all who have supported Black Cat over the past few years! I look forward to seeing you Monday nights at our new home at the Roberts Creek Community Hall.

<div>Water or Coke?

WATER

#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half the world population.)

#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger.

#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%.

#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a ! printed page.

#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?

COKE

#1. In many states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from
the highway after a car accident.

#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.

#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

#5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

#7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.

#8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

#1. the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.

#2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup! (the concentrate) the commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

#3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean engines of the trucks for about 20 years!

Now the question is, would you like a glass of water? or Coke? </div>

    </a>
<div>it's been three weeks since my return from mexico and the 7:7:7:7 gathering in sayulita. all my experiences have settled within me and i guess it's time to share a bit of what i experienced there. this is a long post....

my trip began by flying into puerto vallarta and having chris meet me at the airport, which was a very kind gesture as i landed at night and the busses to sayulita had stopped running. i was able to deliver an entrusted package of interchill cds to chris, which i handed over to him after passing through mexico customs without a hitch. chris also kindly offered to carry one of my bags so i gave him my daypack. that was the first time i had ever given over my daypack to anyone to carry. it would also be the last time....

after trying unsucessfully to barter with taxi drivers to lower their fare from $60 to $30 to get a ride to sayulita we hopped on a local bus which took us as far as we could get in the direction we were going. we hitched from there and were picked up very quickly by a pick up, who took us more than half way to a little town called mescales. after jumping out of the truck chris said to me, "do you have your daypack?" um, no chris, you were carrying it!

shit. it was left in the back of the truck which was quickly disappearing down the highway. i ran futilely after it, and several minutes later chris managed to flag down another motorist who kindly offered us a ride to give chase. but enough time had passed that we could not catch up nor could we find the truck again. fuck. although i had my passport and money and i.d. in my pocket, and most everything in the bag was replaceable (sunglasses, fleeces, hat, daytimer, etc., etc.) the most crucial of all items were lost: my insulin, glucose meter, and all i need for my diabetes in the next two weeks.

i couldn't believe it! chris couldn't either and although he told me that he felt strongly that the bag would come back, i found it hard to believe. this was mexico, after all. i was thanking the multiverse that i didn't bring my laptop with me because that surely would have been in that bag. but then again, if i had my laptop i might not have given chris my bag in the first place.... it's hard to say.

there was a 24 hour pharmacy in mescales so we went there and bought most of what i needed to replace - insulin, syringes, and the glucose meter. when we arrived to the campground in sayulita i discovered the meter did not work and another trip in the morning was needed to find one that did work.

i awoke the next morning in my tent, rolling around on the earth. what??? an earthquake! for two minutes i rode the wave and then in the following ten minutes i listened to the sound of the waves coming in on the beach. i couldn't know whether it was a small tremor nearby or a massive shift hundreds of miles away. i listened to the waves, considering my options should the sound stop, which would indicate a tsunami coming in.

the day began with the earth moving (a 4.8 100 miles offshore i found out) and this foretold of the majick to come that day, and indeed throughout my entire two week trip. shift happens.

chris and i headed back to mescales to return the faulty meter, and stop in at the transit cop station nearby to see if the pick up truck driver found the bag, found the medicine inside, and decided to give it to some authorities or something. sadly, no luck. we couldn't get all we needed from mescales so we hopped a bus and headed back to pv where there was a larger pharmacy (in the newly built walmart no less. ugh.).

after getting everything replaced to a total cost of $250 we headed back to the gathering. we were both exhausted so we were somewhat nodding off on the bus. there was a cb radio crackling at the front of the bus and at one point something on it penetrated chris's consciousness. he thought he heard something about a "bag going to sayulita" and that woke him up with a start! was it our bag? of course not, it was just some random chatter on the radio... but it woke up chris at the exact moment when the bus was across from the transit office in mescales. and look! there was the truck and the truck driver at the office! holy shit! we grabbed our stuff and scrambled off the bus and raced over. but it wasn't the right truck nor the right driver, even though the truck was so familiar, it even had the broken side view mirror.

deflated, we went to the bus stop to wait for the next bus. a woman standing there waiting looked at chris, asked him if he spoke spanish, then asked him if he lost a bag. huh? apparently she worked in the bus depot right behind us and the truck driver had gone there in the morning to leave his phone number, figuring we were taking the bus further north.

we called him, he was at work, right near the walmart, so we headed back to pv, returned all the walmart stuff and picked up my daypack, everything intact, only missing were some snacks i had that the man told me were for his "daughter who was sick." damn, i couldn't care less what he did with them! after giving him a bit of a reward and he offering us anything we needed, chris and i headed back to sayulita completely dazed at the crazy majick we just experienced. the series of events that lead to us retrieving the bag are almost unbelievable. except that if you offer yourself up to the mysteries of our existence on this plane of reality, this is the kind of stuff you can expect to occur!

i've spent a lot of time telling this story because it is very representative of my experiences in mexico on this trip. majick was a primary element, and i was able to experience it on many different levels. partly because of my state of mind coming to mexico - i came without any expectations at all, only offering myself up to the mysteries and majick of the multiverse to guide my trip. and partly because of the event itself - the 7:7:7:7 gathering was fully immersed in spirit, with the attendance of healers, indigenous teachers, healing ceremonies, quality vegetarian food, and the local indigenous huichol and a marakame (shaman) who blessed us with his presence and who lead some of us on a sacred medicine journey the following week.

the gathering itself took place in a private campground right on the beach, which did create some problems while easing the experience for others. we were not isolated but instead surrounded by sayulita, which i must say is the most un-mexican town i've ever been in. it's on the verge of being majorly corporatized - the footwear company crocs just opened a shop there while so far subway has not yet moved in after being turned down in their offer to buy a local ice cream store for the location. but century 21 and other real estate companies are all over the place and i found rents and land and house prices to be comparable to roberts creek. most people spoke english, which i found helpful being unilingual, and there were many americans and canadians living and working there. one night i even bumped into an old friend from the comox valley who was living there!

so there were lots of distractions holding a gathering in a town. the positive side was that it did make life easier to navigate, but then again it wouldn't have been too difficult if we were isolated. i think being isolated is far more preferable, as it would have kept us focussed and we could have created a tighter bonds as a group. instead our energies were scattered and difuse. another positive aspect to being in a town was the ability to draw in locals and others who were not aware of the gathering, and exposing people to ideas and circles they may never have come across.

the gathering wasn't heavily scheduled and was not cluttered, keeping the focus simple and allowing a lot of time for randomness. as it turned out most workshops scheduled never occurred, either because the presenters didn't show up or for other reasons unknown to me. i wasn't too upset because i'm not much focussed on workshops at gatherings, preferring instead to use the time to connect with others present on one-on-one levels. i was however sad when the film screenings were cancelled, even though i have all the films and had even presented all of them over the years. the cinema was held in a local restaurant in the town, and after the first screening of 'the corporation' chris was told he was not welcome any more to complete the week-long series. very unprofessional of the restaurant but not completely unexpected in a town attracting a lot of big money.

every day luis gave a workshop on the dreamspell and how to understand it on deeper levels. the first couple times the workshop was translated for us non-spanish speaking people, but then that kinda dropped off and they were in spanish only, so i couldn't get much out of it. luis is one of chris' teachers and is a very generous person, and who played a key role in our collective journey after the gathering (more below).

there were quite a few interesting experiences but i'll only just write about some of my personal highlights.

monday, the first day of the gathering, we held a ceremony for the water on the beach, beside the creek that became known as "shit creek" because it stank, was beside a supposed treatment facility, but which carried down a lot of crap (literally) to the ocean. the ceremony was lead by the huichol and attending indigenous healers and teachers. the water needs a lot of prayers in mexico. for the next few days it was kinda rainy and overcast. well, most of the time i was in mexico it was overcast, apparently very unusual weather for the time of year. but nothing is "usual" any more when it comes to weather patterns.

on tuesday the huichol marakame made himself available for individual healing ceremonies which took place in the home of my new friend gary, a cree from northern saskatchewan. the ceremony involved what seemed like a reading and cleansing of my energetic aura, my energetic signature. the marakame was praying while seeming to brush away and cleanse my energy. throughout the ceremony he would at times put his mouth physically on various parts of my body and "suck" out the negative energy, and then he would go outside and literally spit it out. this occurred about a half dozen times. i was then given a candle which i was instructed to light every day for the next five days, to concentrate, meditate on forgiveness and clarity toward my intentions, while, in a sense, smudging myself with the flame, and connecting to the elements and the seven directions (east, north, west, south, above, below, inner). i think this healing set me up for the rest of my trip, and allowed further shifts to occur later.

wednesday the healing continued as we were invited to participate in a temascal (sweatlodge) ceremony at a site in sayulita where it has been set up for a few years. i had previously in my life participated in only one sweatlodge ceremony many years ago, and it was of the kind where the warrior spirit was fierce and the heat becomes so very intense. i remember that i had to leave even though it was expressly looked down upon, even forbid! so it was with some level of anxiety that i came to this ceremony, but not much; i was fully committed to seeing it through until the end. it turned out however that it wasn't the heat that prevented me from completing it but the cramped conditions as there were too many of us inside for anyone to sit comfortably. i left after the third round, after the third door was opened.

on thursday chris facilitated a trip out in the open ocean to visit members of the whale nations. we were blessed with a view of a huge grey mama and her two calves. sadly the boat i was in was driven by a person who for some reason did not take us as close as the other boat was, so my view was from a distance and not alongside, and no one on our boat had the confidence perhaps to request or demand we get closer. no matter though, i thoroughly enjoyed being out on the open water, getting splashed and connecting with the ocean in this way.

on friday cor from the action hero network held a dragonfly beading workshop, the one activity that seemed to dominate the gathering over all others, because everyone wanted to make a dragonfly! cor is an incredibly dynamic person who is doing so much good. check him out at http://www.actionheronetwork.net/

saturday we had our beach party with local djs lunar monkey and manik, plus chill. we were able to secure the co-operation of a beach side bar, and we danced to the most epic almost-full moon set i have ever witnessed falling over the pacific ocean. the lsd enhanced my experience too!

sunday were closing ceremonies, which i actually don't remember too much about. we had circles every day, always with the conch blown to the seven directions, always praying to the spirits and energies and guardians of each. the gathering brought me closer to the earth, yet also brought me closer to the cosmic forces which guide us. and, it brought me closer to my true self (mostly from the culmination of my trip - the medicine journey - which occurred the following week and which i write about below). i arrived without expectations and therefore i was not disappointed; instead i was so very grateful to be able to attend, to receive the gifts of prayer, spirit, and healing which were continually offered.

i want to write a bit about the people who attended the gathering. in total there probably weren't more that a couple dozen who came specifically for 7:7:7:7. a lot of them were on their way to roblito, a community where cor and his action hero network troupe were primarily focussed on and headed to; this gathering fit their timeline so they attended. i found that because of this dynamic some of the roblito crew were not at all focussed in the way that they would have been had they come primarily for 7:7:7:7. one person had serious scarcity-martyr issues and created conflicts with many of us. i was glad that some bc folks i knew were there - neith with her two kids, yossi and naomi, kriya, and of course, chris. in total we never really bonded as a group the way folks did last year (or so i heard).

after sayulita most of us headed to tepic to ground out before heading to a peyote medicine journey. in tepic, luis runs a restaurant with his wife which i have to say is one of the best vegetarian restaurants i have ever been to! and not only did luis invite us to crash in the upstairs rooms for several days but he also let us eat all day for free. pure bliss!

luis also recently bought a 300 acre piece of jungle just outside of tepic in a little village called, nicely, "la yerba." it was there that the marakame lead us on as medicine journey, and it is there that chris now writes about where he has now invited kin to join him to share the journey on these last years before 2013. quite an offer and quite a beautiful piece of land to create a dream.

on the road to la yerba we let go the one individual who was creating conflicts, as chris told him that his energy was not appropriate for the journey. i wish he had been even more discretionary; i wish that the people who attended were a smaller and tighter group. some folks there did not understand the meaning of "sacred" or "ceremony." the disrespect they showed toward the medicine, toward the shaman! i was so disheartened and sad at what i witnessed in that circle.

this was my first medicine circle with peyote, and it was being lead by a shaman from the area who was at least 75 years old. everything was ritualized - even when we were cleaning our sections of peyote, given to us throughout the night, we had to ceremoniously leave the dirt we collected on the surface where they were being cut. everything we did and everything we consumed, first were offered to the fire, be it water, candles, or animal cookies representing the animal nations.

the shaman and his sons played a small guitar (a quatro perhaps) and a violin, each carved homemade style out of one piece of wood. the music and singing were so discordant but also very conducive to putting one in a trance-like state of mind.

i don't want the poor actions and attitudes displayed by some of the people attending to overshadow the deeper experiences i had, but they do form a significant part of the experience, and cannot be overlooked in the entire context. for example, you can see photos of our ceremony online, on the action hero website (go to the 7:7:7:7 photos link). the fact that you can see photos will tell you enough about how much of a "gong show" (as gary called it) it was. there is one photo of the marakame and one of his sons, they are looking right at the camera, it was at this point when the shaman said cor could take a picture (then many were taken from that point on throughout the night.) it was at that point, i'm guessing, that the marakame realized this was bullshit, and by saying "go ahead and take my picture" he was in effect saying, "this is not a sacred ceremony anymore." i can hardly begin to express my revulsion at one person bringing out his burning man green laser toy. and i was also extremely disappointed with our host luis who acted in an entirely adulterous way with one woman, maria, who was part of our group; the two of them together basically isolated themselves from the circle almost right from the start. after flirting throughout the previous week, after luis' wife holding down the restaurant while he could be at the gathering, they essentially became a couple and even shared a bed together on the day following the ceremony.

now, i'm, no prude, i'm not firmly attached to a monogamous mindset, and i think consenting adults can do as they please. but this was something else. i can't say i know the intimate dynamics of luis' marriage but from everything i know and witnessed what was going on, his advances and intimacy with maria was so very uncool. and to continue it in such a major way at a medicine journey left me feeling very confused as to what lies in the core of these people who claim such high standards. who is this teacher who cheats on his wife???

but i try to look past the bullshit. i do know one thing for certain, and that is that i've returned home with my mind definately shifted. i am not the same person i was when i left, due to the entire week long series of circles, prayers, and healings, culminating in the ingesting of the sacred peyote, regardless of the external human factors. after all, this is much bigger than the human element; it's a connection to the cosmos, to the divine, to the creation energy which guides us all. i feel so very blessed and honoured to have been able to attend and to have taken part and experienced all i did. and for all that i want to express my profound gratitude to chris for creating the container where my journey occurred.

after tepic i headed back to sayulita for my final three days to connect with gary on deeper levels. the friendships i made with certain people on this trip i know will last a lifetime. we all have our work to do, and when we find others on the same path or who's paths closely overlap with our own, we must seize the moment and explore the possibilities and potentials.

i am looking forward to how the third installment of 7:7:7:7 unfolds, and how my life path and participation might intersect with that world.

thanks for reading this far! :)

many blessings,

<div>this new moon i've found to be exceptionally strong... anyone else feel the same? any astrologers out there have anything to say about it?

i'm feeling a lot better. i offer heartfelt thank yous to everyone who responded to my cries, who offered hugs, who lent their ears and offered their words, who gave a shit and who helped me move forward and through the darkness. thank you so much. i am so very lucky to know you all and consider you my family and friends. my community.

though the house deal is off for now, (which was the element that really threw me off-balance) i remain open to alternative possibilities. perhaps the past month and a half was the testing ground for ideas and concepts and what it means to work toward our dreams as a community. in that light i am putting out to the multiverse that i am still seeking investors and co-dreamers. for details on this property please tribe or email me and we can talk more.

i'm also gearing up for a few projects coming this fall. in september i'm relaunching the black cat film series at the gumboot in roberts creek. i have 11 dates coming up september through december. stay tuned for a full schedule and details. this time films will be held on monday nights not thursdays.

i'm also working on a few music/dance events, including luminance III which will take place on saturday december 16th. this will be the third year of this co-creation with luns. if you're not familiar with this incredible winter solstice multimedia celebration check out http://www.tribalharmonix.org/events/details340.html for details from last year. plus i'm working on a very special show coming up on saturday oct. 21st... you won't be disappointed! and.... there may yet be another party here sometime in either sept. or october.

so, yup, the lightness is seeping back through the cracks into my life. i look forward to sharing *that* with you!

<div>just when i think i've got something figured out...
i realize how much of it is projection.

<div>i've been tagged by eduardo and amy, so i here goes....

(for those of you unfamiliar, the idea is to reveal eight things about yourself that friends might not know... then tag eight friends.)

1) my ancestry on my dad's side is from a place that no longer exists - besarabia - now southern moldavia and north eastern romania, on the black sea.

2) the very first rock concert i went to was rod stewart on his blondes have more fun tour. i bought tickets for myself plus two girls i liked and brought both of them because i liked both of them and couldn't decide... and no, we didn't have a threesome...

3) two of my ex girlfriends are either in the process of becoming, or are now, men. one of them i was married to for 10 years, but we were only together for nine months. she was cheating on me for 6 of those months... i initiated the divorce when i became engaged to a woman who is now ratting out my friends to the fbi. this is a strange world. the engagement lasted a couple months. i made her send the ring back.

4) i spent 4 months in jail for taking 22 cats out of the university of alberta medical science dept. i was refused bail because the judge said i was a danger to society. i drove the cats to vancouver with a friend. they were in cardboard boxes in the back of my toyota pick up truck, and we'd stop every few hours to water them. we'd hafta do them in rotation, one at a time. i parked outside sweet c's on commercial drive looking for anyone who might want a cat. later most of them went to a farm.

5) i like to collect brass trinkets, pennies, blankets, dvds, and small pieces of wood furniture. among other things.

6) i had a vasectomy when i was 20 years old and have never regretted it.

7) i was on the run from the law for two years in the mid nineties (for the cat liberation), and then arrested by the fbi in a stake out and road block set up just for me! i was then shuffled thru nine jails in california in three weeks before being deported into the waiting arms of the rcmp. i got drunk on the airplane.

8) virgo sun, cancer moon, leo ascendant, wood dragon, solar warrior, numbers 3 and 6, numbers in general, synchronic events, the prayer of music and dance, and the power of consciousness, awareness, and intention are my tools in this particular physical reality.

well. that was interesting....

i now tag niko, artemis, cedar, janette, jess d, kaya marie starchild, luna, meta, sathya, and tama. yeah, i know that's more than eight...</div>
