Tour Journal

As we head back out toward California, Shelley takes a moment to reflect on last months amazing journey across America.

Last month's tour out west had Dub visiting new cities and experiencing some random, out-of-the-way places that turned out to be quite memorable shows. I began my journey with the boys in Truckee, CA, just outside of Tahoe. We played a beautiful amphitheatre, opening for Ziggy Marley, which was a highlight for me. The turnout was the best the park had seen and the reception was awesome.

Last week several of us had the pleasure of visiting our friends at Tryon Life Community Farm in Portland, Oregon. We couldn't have been more pleased to meet the wonderful people living there, creating an incredible community nestled into Tryon Creek State Park, a 650-acre ecosystem of towering firs, cedars and diverse Northwest forest. Just a few hundred feet from the steelhead-bearing creek lie these seven acres of rolling meadow, gardens, homes, naturally-built structures, and wooded cliffs: a unique sustainability educational facility and community gathering place.

The Langerado Music Festival turned out to be everything Dubconscious had hoped for as they brushed shoulders and shared the stage with some of the industry's finest acts. The early Friday set was a full success as hundreds of fans began their festival weekend with a mainstage dub set. The band happily spent the weekend at the festival enjoying the amazing artist lineup, world class festival hospitality and hanging with new and old friends and fans. Thanks to Annabel and the Langerado staff as well as South Florida Jams for having Dubconscious at this great event.

Dubconscious returned to sunny Florida this weekend for a great run of shows starting in Tampa and ending in Tallahassee, reaffirming the band's growing fanbase and close family ties in the state. The weekend was a huge success and a great trip all around.

The dub bus arrived in Tampa early on Friday to pay a visit to Adrian's dad, Robert Zelski, at the University of South Florida. The band was treated to a group appointment in Dr. Zelski's office to get ear molds for future use with in-ear monitors for stage production. Thanks to Adrian's dad and the slew of audiology students who made the ear mold session an unforgettably bizzare and fun experience!
