Last night was a great night! We took some pics near the parking lot and then headed to the theater (about an hour and half before midnight). There was already a line waiting. We grabbed our tickets and bought some merchandise (posters and tour t-...

48 Hour Film Challenge wrap up
(blog entry)
Sadly, my film, "Tomb House" did not make the "Best Of" for the 48 Hour Film Challenge. I feel we turned out a good film, but apparently the judges disagreed. But there were only 14 chosen, so I'm sure many other good movies did not make the cut.

"Tomb House"

I added a module for the short film I made for the 48 Hour Film Challenge. I plan to add some stuff to the screenplay and re-shoot the whole thing in the fall (with more time for planning and production). I tried to embed the source code in this b...

So here it is; the day before the start of the 48 Hour Film Challenge (Providence). I am not as nervous I was a few days ago. Today my sound/lighting guy and I tested a out few things and everything is coming together nicely.

Last night was a great night! We took some pics near the parking lot and then headed to the theater (about an hour and half before midnight). There was already a line waiting. We grabbed our tickets and bought some merchandise (posters and tour t-shirts). We then began the wait for the theater to open its doors to us freezing, but enthusiastic, fans.
There were few people dressed in costume which made me even more thankful that we made the effort. While we were waiting in line, we got all fa...

I think the main problem is that it was too ambitious a story to tell in so short a format (five to seven minutes maximum). I plan to re-shoot an extended version in the fall, as well as finish editing the short (but still longer than seven minute)...

Well I turned the finished film on time (got in an hour under the deadline). Saturday was a very long day of shooting and an even longer night of editing. I started editing after midnight Saturday evening and did not finish the final edit of the movie until Sunday afternoon.
I had a rough edit early Sunday afternoon but then had to wait for my music guy to create the score. Once I had the score I was able to lay down the tracks and do the final edit.
Highlights: drawing a genre I could work...

So here it is; the day before the start of the 48 Hour Film Challenge (Providence). I am not as nervous I was a few days ago. Today my sound/lighting guy and I tested a out few things and everything is coming together nicely.
Tomorrow I have a lot to do; getting the house ready for Saturday, grabbing last minute supplies and, of course, attending the Kickoff event; the official start of the contest.
I don't expect to get much sleep this weekend but it should be a wild ride.
