Recently Finished my first Class at Julie's (blog entry) I just finished teaching my first sewing class at Julie's in Alameda. It was great fun working with two creative students and such a wonderful atmosphere looking out onto the beautiful garden in the back of the cafe.

We just finished my first "Knock Your Pants Off" class where my students learned how to make a pattern from a pair of pants they already owned. It was great fun. Both students had jeans they wanted to knock off. Claudia and Cindy did a great job. I can't wait to see thier finished pants. Check out the photos from the class.

In August I finished Melissa B's wedding gown. She wanted to use her mother's gown but wanted something totally different , modern and current. Her Mom's gown was very modern for the 1960's made from a linen blend with cotton lace trim, it had a empire waist with a scoop neck and 3/4 sleeves. The orinal dress had a detachable train with a bow in the back.
We completely re-modeled the gown to have spagetti straps and a low back along with a satin sash. The new dress had an additional la... read more

I just finished teaching my first sewing class at Julie's in Alameda. It was great fun working with two creative students and such a wonderful atmosphere looking out onto the beautiful garden in the back of the cafe.
I really love to pass on my sewing experience to other crafters. I've been sewing and crafting since I was a little girl and can't imagine doing anything better with my time. I'm really looking forward to my next class in July. it's an Alteration Class at Julie's. I'm hop... read more
