I'm a Jersey girl who finally made the leap across the big pond. Ever since high school I always felt NYC was where I belong. Nice to know I have arrived. I always considered myself a bohemian type of sorts the Molly Ringwald type(Pretty in Pink), Ally Sheedy type (Breakfast Club) always "left of center" and "in the fringes". As much as the people who know me considered me the nerdy type because I "seem" to be knowledgeable about a lot of things..I'm really a creative type of person.
It's sad when your dreams turn into nightmares and the people you thought were friends really weren't all along.
It is sad and foolish to make decisions with your heart instead of your head.
Moving to NYC was one of the most costly mistakes I ever made..to think that work and friendship would flourish if I moved there because most New Yorkers would never dare cross the Hudson..they might fall off the face of the earth. New Yorkers can be the most fickle people ever. If you are geographically not in a convenient ideal boro, neighborhood no one would visit. Like it is too much effort to visit someone on the east side or west of town for example because crosstown traffic is such a bitch.
Due to the financial fiasco and down turn in my respiratory health, I took a leap of faith and decided to leave the toxic city and move to the metro area of Boston. Already my body can sense an increase in oxygen where it hasn't before and were I felt fatigued I feel more energetic. I don't wheeze as much anymore. May be the EPA has been lying about the toxicity of lower Manhattan because most of my worse breathing episodes happened when I took on an assignment where I worked on Greenwich Street/Broadway area near Morris Street. I also think that the building management companies haven't been keeping up with making sure the indoor air quality is on the up and up too.
Now that my social circle is a dot. I hope to use this period of nothingness to heal and regroup and to purge myself of all the toxic people and events of the last three years. Perhaps in time I may reach out to my pagan brothers and sisters in the Boston metro area and in Salem and create, I hope some long lasting and true friendships.

David Byrne from Talking Heads fame blends art, acoustics, and engineering to create a new musical experience.
Connected to an antique organ are wires that are attached to different parts of the main hall of the Battery Maritime Terminal. Each wire is connected to a different part of the room. Some wires are connected to hammers that strike the metal pillars. Other wires are connected to motors or cylinders. The keyboard of the organ is divided into motors, flute (air forced through pipes), and cylinders (pillars).
I went last Friday after work and there was this one guy was great he really played the pillars with the type of staccato would associate with drum/xylophone/marimba playing.
Truly (pardon the musical pun) Art of Noise.

This is my 2nd year that I have attended Blood Manor and it is by far the best haunted house I have gone too. I am going to make this my yearly trip during Halloween. The props are awesome, the actors are amazing, even when you leave you want to come back for more!... Ever plan on making it bigger??? Why The 2008 Election Will Be A Close One
A Numerological Analysis of Barack Obama and John McCain and why Obama is Destined to Be President
From analyzing the birth dates and numerological vibrations of both candidates full names several interesting information can be gleamed.
Both are born to lead and both share similar numerological vibrations.
If we compare the birth dates of both Obama and McCain and add the numbers and reduce the total. This is the Life Lesson Number.
Barack Obama
8+4+17 (1+9+6+1 = 17) = 29
2+9=11
John McCain
8+29+ 19 (1+9+3+6 = 19) = 56
5+6 = 11
Both Obama and McCain has a common Life Lesson Number of 11. Both candidates have a destiny involving leadership. Both candidates also have anxiety/nervous energy. Obama’s Life Lesson Number 29/11 vibration reflects anxiety and uncertainty where McCain’s 56/11 reflects nervous energy and a need for self control. Both have the propensity for indecisiveness. Both also have the propensity to attract unreliable and untrustworthy types.

It is with a joyful and profound glee, that I am writing this blog in the wee hours of the early morning. Tonight was my starting night for the 2008 Season of Blood Manor, New York's Finest Haunted Halloween attraction located on West 27th Street in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. What I didn't know upon getting there was that the renown author of famous series "Goosebumps" was coming on my first night until I got into makeup. It's a damn shame I am blind as a freakin bat because I couldn't tell you what R L even looks like everyone is a blur to me. R. L. Stine gave Friday night's performance good reviews and I encourage everyone who knows me to come.
If any one is interested in getting the piss scared out of them..please contact me through tribe. I have two $5.00 off coupons left that is good for this upcoming week and I can leave them with management for you to pick up at time of purchase and they can deduct it off just have to mention that Arlene left them.
For my fellow cast members who may be in Tribe I want to say what a pleasure working with you all tonight and that I hope that 2008 will be the best season ever for Blood Manor.

My comment on Marie Claire's 10 Dating Red Flags:
I concur with a lot of what the author of the article has to say esp when it comes to long distance relationships. Most of the time I was going to Boston and mostly because it fit into his schedule of what he was doing like attending a wedding at an Arisia convention near MIT or because his dating friends were doing something and he needed someone so as to not feel awkward. Most of the time I cave in and try to do things I know he would like.
Also, the author makes a great point about relationships fitting into your future. My last boyfriend really wanted to make a career with BOA and had no qualms with relocating anywhere and none of his plans included me ( I can understand if you are dating less than a year) but deep down I knew that this wouldn't change. Also, one person's so called "hobby" is actually another's lifestyle choice. There's a big difference between something that is a hobby and an activity that is a lifestyle choice. A hobby is something you do occasionally like sitting in front of the tv or on the crocheting or painting tin soldiers, or collecting stamps and coins. An activity(ies) or interests that involve planning and having interests or activities that you plan your life around or is part of your daily/weekly routine is a lifestyle choice like being polyamourous or hedonistic.
Former boyfriend lived and breathed scifi conventions and likes to play games like Magic - The Gathering. (using it a cultural reference he doesn't that game in particular). If the other person is really into the same that is fine but when it isn't the case it can be a lonely existence for both. I bought bus tickets for 4th of July and last minute, he gets an invite from his 'gaming friends' I figured this can be educational because I can see.."everyday every week boyfriend in his weekly element". I travelled 4 hours to Boston (which I can't always do due to my economic circumstances) only to be able to spend maybe close to an hour out of a twelve hour visit with his friends. I admit I am high maintainence and I suffer from abandonment issues because A.) I was adopted. B) My adoptive parents where very self-absorbed and not very nurturing and would leave me alone a lot.
c.) not having many friends at any given point in my life, boyfriends priorities aren't looking for a potential mate. Also need to factor in that he is younger physically and emotionally need to subtract a few years off the physical age. If then boyfriend was mature I think his priorities would be in a different order. The whole time I was there, I was thinking .."My God, if I had a child with this man I would be spending the holidays just me and the child or I would visit family because gaming is such a huge part of his life. His roommate downplays my ex?boyfriends weekly card playing to a "hobby". Needless to say, I left to go home the next day and I told then boyfriend that I think I shouldn't come up for the holidays that if I knew that you would have other plans for the holiday way ahead of time I would have refrained from buying a bus ticket. Well 4 of July was like two months ago and no phone call no emails so unofficially I guess I'm available now.

When determining if you should let things get serious, remember: actions speak louder than words. With that being said, here are ten dating red flags. If you see any of these, do yourself a favor and reconsider if it's worth it for you.
1. You are not on the VIP list for breaking news
Were you the last to learn about this person's job promotion or newborn niece or nephew? Once things are serious, you should be among the first to know about exciting news, or bad news.
2. They avoid meeting your family or friends
If they are shying away from meeting your friends/family consistently, then there are problems. Even if they are very shy, they should want to meet those who are important to you.
3. They don't make any sacrifices
Healthy relationships don't require bending over backwards all the time, but a certain amount of sacrifice is necessary in a selfless union. When two of my friends first started dating one another, she demanded that he go to Farm Aid for her birthday, which was also the opening NFL football Sunday. While all the guys gathered to watch the games, he was sweltering on some field attending Farm Aid -- an event he never would have gone to if she hadn't have invited him. Now that's sacrifice.
4. They can't fit in your future
I admit it. When I meet girls, I envision future moments I may some day share with them. Most of my scenarios are her with me and my family at a Thanksgiving holiday or at a summer crabfeast. If I'm really into her, I usually relish the thought. If not, I kinda cringe.
5. They are too controlling
It's scary but I've seen many relationships where guys forbid girls to hang out with certain friends, or wear certain clothes. Major problem if someone is controlling you and not allowing you to be who you want to be within a relationship.
6. The "what are we" conversation fails miserably
Almost every relationship hits that crossroads where you both decide if it's worth taking the plunge into being exclusive and calling each other boyfriend/girlfriend. If they are confused and surprised that you're ready to get serious, the timing is not right, and you should try to figure out how long you want to wait around until they are ready.
7. They talk about plans that don't involve you
My sister has major wanderlust. She's always talking about heading off to Chicago or living in London for a year. She often talks about these things with no regard for the fact that she has a boyfriend at the time. If you find that someone is making plans or talking about far off places without inviting you along for the ride, don't let yourself get too into this person.
8. Your friends or family don't like them
Remember that your friends and family know you best. Don't take their thoughts with a grain of salt. It's one thing if a person or two don't get along with your significant other, but if a lot of them are saying you should reconsider, then do it. Unfortunately, we often find out about how much our friends hated that person after this person is gone.
9. They violated your trust
Whether it's cheating or a little lie that they got caught in, it will be hard to regain trust. Trust is something we don't give away easily, and once it's gone it's hard to get it back. We'll always be wondering about that lie, and doubt will creep in more and more as our minds fixate on that lie. Too often, people take trust for granted and once they lose it they never get it back.
10. You practice "unbalanced dating"
Are you always seeing his friends or doing things that he wants to do? Do you just let him pick the restaurants and events? Or is it the other way around? Relationships are fun when you are both able to contribute. If you're not taking turns creating fun times together, it will most likely fizzle out.

As much as people think I am a crackpot for believing in Nostradamus's predictions, the recent selection of Ms. Palin sent shivers up my spine.
When 2008 began I thought, "Hillary could fit the prediction".
Now that Hillary is out of the running I thought, " If Obama wins he won't be president long and something will happen to him and the VP; leaving Speaker of the House Pelosi to step up to the plate. In the US Gov't should anything happen to both the President and VIce President, the Speaker of the House is next in line to assume the duties of the President of the United States/Commander in Chief. Pelosi, is 2 heartbeats away from the presidency.
Palin, should McCain be elected (Goddess forbid) is only 1 heartbeat away. McCain isn't ancient like Ronald Reagan but he's no spring chicken either healthwise. Then again scandals and impeachments could always happen too.
Still I'm on pins and needles because this will be the first prediction in the modern era that I could see come to pass.
