Oh beautiful Dahlia.
I have only known her for a little while but I felt a connection the moment we met. She is sweet as pie and dances with a fire and inner strength that make the dance an art. she can dance anything from the most elegant classical Egytian to the funkyest fusion. I always relish the chance to see her dance andam glad that I have been able to work with her and become friends. Incidently she is a fabu teacher.

Dahlia Moon
Special Sparkle Award
As an authority in my field of the art of Middle Eastern Dance, every once in a while I think it is important to give credit where credit is due. Thus I have come up with and special award to give to fellow dancers who I feel deserve extra special recognition. I wish to give my
A SPECIAL SPARKEL AWARD
To Dahlia from Delilah
Her name is Dahlia but because our names are similar to quell the confusion, we call her Dahlia Moon at VDP Studios (in Fremont Neighborhood of Seattle) where she has been teaching for over a year. Her students love her and I love her too.
Dahlia is not only a beautiful dancer, but she has a fiery inner fiber of spirit, the strength and integrity to work hard, and the caring heart and convictions that make her truly exceptional. She is an artist through and through.
We hit it off the minute we met. I look forward to dancing with her on a real cool project very soon.

about me
I wear my heart on my sleeve, most of the time. It sometimes gets me in trouble. I love to dance, play, dance, eat, drink, and dance. (Not in any particular order.) I'm a Taurus... what can I say?

I walked my little 6-&-a-half year-old daughter to kindergarten this morning. We were late. On the way out, I passed the band room where I could hear the kids warming up their instruments before class. The chaotic noise was so sweet. I loved the screaming trumpet; remembering those "guys" and "the girl" who were in the trumpet section. (I was a band geek from 5th grade on. Playing flute and drums were my mainstay until I got involved with voice later.) Anyhoo.... It was bitter-sweet, r...

I was cleaning out "the shed" with my hubby today --- on this BEAUTIFUL, frickin-about-time-gorgeous-could-hardly-keep-my-clothes-on, spring day --- when I came across a crate full of some old horse tack of mine: a double-rein bit, brushes galore, hoof pick, neatsfoot saddle oil, and some greasy, treatment stuff for hooves. The goop had leaked out all over the other stuff and left a mess to be wiped up. I didn't mind, though. I actually enjoyed taking my time, rubbing off the the greasy m...

Oh my goodness.... What a weekend! Although April Rose was unable to make it at the last minute due to a family emergency, Amy and Shelly, as always, COMPLETELY, rocked the house. Oh... I mean... "the show." ;) We had soooo much fire: palms, eating, staves, WINGS, fans, hoops, contact.... what else? Bowl, poi, and, of course, whip and jump rope. It was incredible. I am soooo thankful to all the folks who participated, volunteered and attended. All of you made this sell out weekend...
