I had just retreated into my room after a rather unfortunate realization about an old friend...who really isn't much of a friend. As part of my 6 month stint at sobriety, I've decided to clean up more than just my act. Also, and to make the time pass productively, I've been cleaning up the detritus that's been lying about my room. A subset of THAT major project is going through all 100 or so of my unmarked mix CD's. And I stumbled upon one that I made aeons ago, when breakbeats were new...let's say...1994 or so. I've been looking for it for about 5 years and just stumbled upon it. The music on it, along with the Terence McKenna spoken word is nothing short of electrifying!!!
It's odd, but yet maybe not so much. My mood went from sour to stoic to determined to...I dunno...elevate myself a bit. The more clear I become, the more I realize that I need not let myself be dragged down into the muck of another's reality. I am resolved to become something better. Not sure if that equates with a pillar of light, but when I went online just now and saw your blog, I felt the synchronicity tugging at me... Sorry for not checking in, Yo. I'm still "one of the good ones". Honest! I've been asleep lately and am only now beginning to stretch out and feel the rays of the light... |
