On a roadtrip gone wrong back from Savannah, GA, I rode with Mel down one of the hottest and most desolate Interstate highways in the country - I-16. Van troubles, in every shape, dogged our confidence that we would ever make it back home to civilization. The stories amongst Southern touring musicians of freak accidents and deaths along this gawd awful stretch of absolutely nothing are bountiful. Seven hours behind schedule we pulled "Shanequa", the band's tricked-out black ghetto van, into the driveway and proceeded to kiss the ground... I'll not ever forget the cool, confident girl that sat next to me and served up unwavering emotional strength, while I belly-ached and whined at every sign of another hole in the radiator.

The story above is but a sliver slice of what I could share with you about this very talented and beautiful woman.
