Stop Oil Speculation

Hi Gang, I hate to stray too far from spiritual topics, but I've long been of the opinion that much of the run up in oil and gas prices is due to excessive speculation in the commodities markets. Over the course of the last few months, different groups of people have come to agree with me, including Airlines, gas station trade organizations (they make only a few cents per gallon, and many gas station retailers and even refiners are now hurting), and many others - essentially anyone and everyone who is getting hurt by high oil prices and has no stake in the enormous profits being made by big oil, as well as many liberal commentators and politicians. Anyway, I've found a website for an organization that is presenting a legislative plan to combat this. It's called Stop Oil Speculation Now, and the link is
www.stopoilspeculationnow.com/. Check it out and use their action form to pester your legislators. The solutions they suggest are a little thick in financial talk, so either you can dig a little further, I suggest wikipedia, or just go with your gut. I'm not out to mount an all out campaign here (that's what this site is about), but I have blogged on this subject (on my wordpress blog), and the legislative suggestions they recommend are the best I've found. `;)
