In 2006 I traveled to Tibet. I went to many places mainly in Amdo and Golok. While I was in Golok I taught English at a school for orphans and poor children. The school is built on sacred land that was recognized by Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok as being the former site where Ling Gesar had a palace. The children who attend this school come mostly from nomadic families. Many of these children have lost one or both parents, or have lived as beggars. They are now being given a chance to receive an education. I feel that this school is doing a great service for the future of Tibet and Tibetan culture.
My main goal for being on tribe is to find like-minded individuals who have an interest in helping Sengdruk Taktse School in Golok, Eastern Tibet. I hope to meet people who can help out in any way, whether financially, just spreading the word, or any other form of assistance.
