My Blog

I'm jumping on the Cyber Monday bandwagon and holding an extra special sale. It's a BUY ONE, GET ONE 1/2 OFF sale. Yep, purchase a colorful silk from my etsy shop and pick out another colorful silk for half off. Of course, it goes without saying (but I'm going to say it anyway), the half off comes off the silk of equal or lesser value. Sale starts now and end at midnight (EST) on November 30.

And, it gets better. Buy two silks and get 1/2 off two more silks. Buy three silks and get 1/2 off... read more

What's a flub, you ask? A flub is a hand painted silk that has a dye error or a stressed area. Silk is an unforgiving medium and dye errors will happen sooner or later. Depending on the circumstances, a dye error can sometimes be 'fixed.' Of course, there are times when that flub is there to stay. When I create a flub, it is listed for sale at a discount -- anywhere from 10%-50% (depending on the severity of the flub).

Today, I listed a FLUB at 25% off retail. The item is a silk belly dan... read more

Everything's gone wrong today! I spent the entire day painting, trying to catch up on inventory since I have a short breather from custom/wholesale work. Well, I flubbed everything I painted . . . which makes me spitting mad.

So, I ask myself, what will make me feel better??? Well, the winning lottery ticket would go a long way to making my night (and my year). But since I didn't buy a ticket, I don't guess that will happen. That drop dead gorgeous stud muffin the crazy fortune tell... read more

I'm currently having HUGE problems with my email address. It's a long, long, long story and just makes me infuriated to think about it. I'm getting ready to go have a talk with myself so I can calm down and maybe (just maybe) get some work done today.

The reason I'm so mad is because this little fiasco seriously hurts my business and could put me in the poor house. Okay, I'm already in the poor house . . . so this may put me out on the street. I'm sure I'll love my new cardboard mansi... read more

about me
As a silk artist, I create unique works-of-art for everyday wear and veils for dancers. Silk painting was introduced to me on a beach in Ixtapa almost 20 years ago. From the beginning, I was hooked. Other mediums never gave me the same feeling of awe that I found with silk.
I do not work from a catalog of designs and color combinations. Instead, I paint whatever makes me happy. In fact, unless I’m working on a custom piece, I usually do not know exactly what I’m going to paint until I start. Each silk is hand painted, making it unique. The beauty of a hand-painted item is that no two pieces are exactly alike. Creating each silk piece is an intensive process. From selecting the best quality silk to mixing custom colors using professional dyes to steaming and sewing, each silk piece is lovingly created to make you, the customer, happy (and it makes me happy, too!).
