Let me see. What fun this could be, but this little bird inside my head is telling me to be honest, but the truth is boring I say.

So, here it is. I am the oldest of three children born and raised in St. Louis by loving and over-indulgent parents, and yes I've been called a princess before and no, I don't like it, but yes there is some truth to it.

My baby brother who is now 28 is handicapped/developmentally disabled. His skull was crushed at birth with 3 fractures in it from the forcepts. He functions at about age 13 and loves movies. Do you want to make me cry really quickly? Get me talking about my brother and wasted potential. One of the reasons why I don't do drugs--I know what a messed up brain looks like.

I did my junior abroad in the China in 1992-1993 in both Beijing and Nanjing. I loved it. So very different. It isn't how the other half lives, it is how the other 99% of the world lives.

After I got out of college, I wasn't ready for the "real world" so I packed my bags and left for Japan. And no, I didn't have a job, a visa or a place to live, but I had it all in 10 days---plus a trip to Korea to get my visa. I stayed there two years. So yes, I have been an illegal alien working in a country.

I came back, backed up all of my stuff and moved to California and I've been here ever since. I get restless sometimes. I have a deep seated need to "go", which I think translates into I never sit still long.

Other things about me--I sing. And in fact it is getting better. I sing with a great choir in Orinda. And yes, I'm a soprano.

The nicest thing I've ever done and the part where if you've read this far I'll completely lose you was that January 11, 2001 I was a bone marrow donor for a woman I never met. There is another story there, but that is for a later time.

I'd like to think that I have a kick ass sense of humor and that I'm as sharp as a whip. But my brain may also be like a steel trap---rusty and illegal in all 50 states, but that is for you to decide.
