Wow, it's been forever since I wrote a blog on here...
I woke up this morning from a weird dream about the SCA where I was following the Calon Army around this giant war, probably Pennsic. All these people I saw had meaningful tasks, like waterbearing or cooking or fighting. I carried some banners, and wandered around aimlessly, talking to people I had met at previous wars. I just got back from having a wonderful time at Gulf Wars. We pulled in at about 6 am Monday after a grueling all-night drive. After unloading the car, and building a little fort of stuff in the living room, I tried to lie down to take a nap before going in to work. It took me awhile to drift off, because it was SO quiet! After camping for a week with thousands of people, you get used to there always being some kind of noise... drums, people chatting, and so on... this is weird for me not to ...

The weekend in Lincoln was pretty fun... the classes were fabulous. Now if only I can remember a tenth of what I learned. The show went well, and our troupe numbers came off mostly without a hitch. I'm not sure I'm going to go to any more workshops, though. They just aren't as fun as SCA events, and they are majorly expensive! $$$

This weekend is TRIBAL DREAMS in Lincoln, Nebraska! I'm so excited to be going away for the weekend and doing something fun. I thought my head was going to explode from the boredom.
Tribal floorwork, Bollywood, and Stage Makeup Classes will all be on offer, all taught by fabulous instructors, some from exotic places such as California and Arizona! :)
On a more somber note, this Sunday will be a year to the day that my ex-husband dumped me... so here's hoping that nothing disastrous happ...

Once again I am lifted to my feet by the realization that I have great friends! And just like Murieghl's cute Beaver with her little sheep slave/friend, friends make life worth living. :)
I am feeling more myself lately, trying to get some projects off the ground, like maybe getting a home loan, and being feast steward for Crown Tourney in May. I will never forget the first time I saw the magnificent creature known as Ilanah, she was laughing and swinging on a swingset at an event. I didn't have any idea who she was, but at that moment I thought...what a beautiful spirit!! Later that day I was helping with youth activities and had a pile of sweaty, cranky, children on my hands, we stopped at Ilanah's tent and she taught us bellydancing until we were laughing again. Now, after so many events I couldn't even count them, I am blessed to call this woman my friend.
She can take the human soul from cheerful to blissful in 2.5 seconds!! And have you seen her autocrat an event? It is shadowed only by her skill in dancing and the way that she is able to make anyone believe that they can do anything!!
I live my days in total devotion to the ideal that in my next life I can and will return as the front clasp on her coin bra...not so much for the view as for the proximity to her generous and delightful heart. :)

Ilanah,
She always makes you smile!! She moves gracefully through the dance, strikes a pose, and smiles that wonderful, beautiful, engaging smile and you can't help but become entranced with the essence that is Ilanah!
