Feeling holiDAZED? Need to release some of your stress and connect more deeply to your soul? This is the 2nd Class of the Vitality and Stress Workshop Series offered by Tamara ~Siri Amar Dev Kaur~ and it is open to all.

In the first series, we identified our stressors and learned a few key kriyas to eliminate tension&stress. Now we will work a little deeper with specific pranayamas=breathing exercises, kriyas and meditations you can do easily to avoid overeating or other self destructive habits that can come up during the holiday season. We will honestly look at what we can do when our family of origin doesn’t necessarily support our way of life, and how to be noble and generous even if it’s not being reflected. Recognize your inner divinity so that you can celebrate your truth this holiday season and be a platform to uplift others!

“Blessed God within us, give us the peace of mind and tranquility, give us the solitude and service, give us the ecstasy and experience. And as you made us as human, give us the light to walk our path…” Yogi Bhajan

*All are encouraged to attend, beginners included! Not required to have attended the 1st Class of this series to join in now. Sign up online at www.deepartandyoga.com and reserve your spot to nurture yourself as a gift to all you love.

Kundalini Yoga

Each Kundalini yoga class places equal emphasis on breathing exercises, movement, mediation, and chanting to relax and heal the mind, body and soul. Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, PHD, is a technology designed to awaken and expand internal awareness and to invoke an experience of calmness, happiness and freedom of spirit. Kundalini yoga teaches you how to gain a strong immune system, vital glands, a strong nervous system, good circulation, and an awareness of the impact of your habits. All levels welcome.

5Rhythms Dance

Put body and spirit in motion with free form dancing to waves of awesome DJ-ed music. Feel the joy of full surrender and release as you dance the 5Rhythms, the practice of Gabrielle Roth. The hour includes music with instruction. Find your flow, your staccato edge, release in chaos, feel your delivery to lyrical and then fall naturally into stillness. Sessions are held in meditative silence. Participation of successive weeks will build your practice skills but each class stands alone - attend when you can. This is a class that dances, not "just a dance." Please arrive on time for each session and stay through for completion

Yoga Basics

The focus of this class is gentle yoga basics and ways to adapt traditional asanas. It will include warm-ups, standing poses, floor poses, inversions, pranayama (breathing exercises), deep relaxation, and meditation. Julie is trained in Ananda style yoga, in which affirmations are offered and mentally repeated while the postures are held. This allows for a peaceful and uplifting "bhav" or mood. Julie will make use of straps, blankets, help the yoga students find a level of stretch that is comfortable. While this is a physically gentle class, It is not "easy" as concentration and body awareness will be developed. Participants can look forward to exploring true presence and the space between effort and effortlessness.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a style of yoga that works deeply into the connective tissues (ligaments, tendons and fascia), healing joints and increasing flexibility. This style of yoga is yin compared to the yang complementary of power vinyasa yoga, bikram yoga or other intense athletic exercise. While our yang workout concentrates primarily on strengthening and stretching the muscles through heat-producing activity, yin yoga penetrates deep into the body through extended poses and passive release restoring the vitality of our connective tissue. If you look at the injuries that retire athletes or hospitalize the elderly, they are primarily joint related, come be proactive about increasing the health of your whole body. A yin yoga class is characterized by a slower pace, a deeper stretch and emphasis on working with the subtle body.

This is an ongoing eight class series through the chakra energy map, ascending each week but each class stands alone. Drop in for one, take them all, enter anywhere along the map.
