Had fun in Colorado!

Here is one of the many, many shots I took, mainly of the great outdoors, before it started ta pour.

Hope all your travel plans are going well.

I can't focus

Well, I'm having fun on my vacation here in Colorado! However I woke up with fuzzy vision in my right eye. I am assuming it has something to do with having used my right eye for over 2 hours taking close-up photos. Or sleeping for a while with my hand under the right side of my face. Hopefully it should clear up within a few hours, and it's nothing serious like ambylopia or retinal myopathy or whatever. If anyone has advice on this I'm all ears (and half eyes). :)

PS I will post some CO pics later.

How gifting changed my life

I just wanted ta mention here how gifting once changed my life.

I had been estranged from my family for about a decade.

Then, I mailed something to a Tribe friend, and had to use my real first and last name to send the package.

He later used my full name - and my Tribe name - in a Tribe post.

That post - and my full name - made it to Google.

My family members, who had been searching for me (apparently) found my name on Google and were able to come to Tribe and reconnect with me.

My life has changed with my Dad and Sister back in touch with me. I don't know how I ever got by without them!

So I just wanted to thank not only my family members, who reached out to me, but to thank that Tribe friend, and Tribe itself... and also to thank myself for taking the time to send that gift out. I never thought it would have such an exponential effect on my world.

Love you guys! :)

Bus Synchronicity: Ecological

This morning on the crowded, kinda warm bus, someone hollered out, "Driver, could you please turn on the air conditioning?"

At first I thought, "Oh sure, that's not going to happen" for some reason.

But yes indeed, the driver turned on the AC. All the bus windows were open, though. The AC really can't work that well then, as we all know.

But the passengers sitting next to the windows began closing them! It was the wildest thing. Sure, I'm easily impressed, but never in my 20+ years of taking public transportation have I seen such cooperation with strangers like this (well outside of Burning Man anyway).

It started slowly. One person closed their window. Then a few seconds later someone else did. Then I got up and closed mine. Then "click, click, click" windows are closing all over the bus. It got nice and cool within seconds.

I added the word "Ecological" into this blog title because the act of closing the windows also saved energy (and blocked out some pollution). I don't know if people are subconsciously striving to help out the ecology -or each other - a little more lately, or if I just got lucky.

Anyway, it was a real trip!

Whore Karma!

So my whore neighbor kept me up all Saturday night with her screaming orgasms. Grrrr. Sadly, I'm sure I've done the same in the past when I was young, foolish, and cared less about other people's feelings. I was a whore too. Whore Karma! But bitch please, if you're gonna cum THAT hard, at least 1.) involve me in your sex or 2.) shut the fuck up. God. Whore.

Billing Bullshit

It seems that since the economy took a downturn, people have been getting fleeced from weird places.

You may want to be on your guard. I have gotten invoices lately from companies I've never done business with. I also got a collections notice from a product I've used for years. All of a sudden they "didn't receive" my last payment/s. Luckily I had copies of my payment records to send them!

Seriously, I've heard things from people about the IRS, EDD, etc. just sendin em bills out of the blue! Don't be intimidated or feel like you're alone. I think some corporate entities have gotten confused lately, or are just hoping to play the odds by intimidating customers in order to try to make more money.

Something I learned once at a church-based soup kitchen in the Mission in San Francisco, while the preacher was harping on us all for our own sin having caused our poverty, while his parishoners were trying to hand us noodles covered in ketchup: If you've tried your best, it's not your fault.

Never get down on yourself because of money. It's just a bunch of zeros and commas anyway.

The whole story

We’re just compressed energy,
moving in an illusion of time.

There is no thought you’re having
that you need to have right now.

It’s your choice.

You’re the character
the writer
the whole story.

Pointless story

There was this one homeless guy in San Francisco (just one? har har) who asked me for a beer. I was walkin home from work where we'd just had a party like we did every two weeks (this was a tech support job in the early 90s, so parties happened a lot back then).

Anyway, I was walkin down Market Street away from the Ferry Building, and this guy was lyin there with a happy smile and cardboard sign. The sign says something like "Why lie? I need a beer." So I reached into my backpack and pulled out one of the beers I had there. I carry all kindsa crazy things in my backpack; from cheese to hunks of meat or bread; pads, scissors. You just never know what you're gonna pull outta there.

He looked kinda surprised but pleased. I tried finding something to open the bottle with for him. These were fine import bottle beers, by the way. I had a few of them on me. He asks me, "You got a lighter?" ya know, ta open the bottle with, and I couldn't find that either (although I was smokin a ciggie at the time). Guess I was a little buzzed too. Plus the backpack was a bottemless pit.

Anyway before I can react, he takes the beer to his mouth and opens it with his teeth. It was weird; I couldn't look away but I was horribly afraid to see his teeth cracking with the strain. I guess I stood there in case he needed someone ta try fixing any broken teeth. Who knows? I coulda had something in the backpack for tooth emergencies too.

In fact I did the same thing back in high school, opened a beer bottle with my teeth, and although I didn't break any teeth, I did scrape my enamel off enough that it caused me pain and trip to the dentist's office. But the guy was ok. I kinda miss San Francisco right now. I don't mis the drinkin or smokin so much, but I kinda miss giving people stuff.

Happy Poet's Day - Late!

It was yesterday. Here's an oldie of mine I like:

Sorry in the fresh and rotting womb
Able to break into this world
Trying to piece together the clues
Oceans flying unfurled
Rare the mind that sees

Aping pluckish woes
Revealed
Entomology restores
Pious fright and postures
On the roaming sanad

They who swallowed
Ever gone
Nectar of the gourd
Epiphany so wrong
Tattle and mislead

Of their favoured fracture
Picking swollen seeds
Earth and skin collide
Raking on the sky
Area of ground

Roaming falling down
Obtuse fractions
Threatening to dawn
Aria shrill
Sanity redeeming
