A strong woman wears the look of confidence on her face... but a woman of strength wears grace.
A strong woman walks sure-footedly... but a woman of strength knows when to ask for help
A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape... but a woman of strength looks deep inside to keep her soul in shape.
A strong woman isn't afraid of anything... but a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of her fear.
A strong woman won't let anyout get the best of her... but a woman of strength gives her best to everyone.
A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids them in the future... but a woman of strength realizes that life's mistakes can also be blessings and capitalizes on them.
A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey... but a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong.
about me
While I am exceptionally attractive, I do not rely on my looks alone. I also have a degree or two. I finally have a job working for the US Coast Guard, which gives me plenty of time to roam the internet. I've got a wonderful man and an awesome network of friends (namely you guys!) What more do I really need, honestly?
So I had LASIK done yesterday. As in laser eye surgery. I had the most recent style, wavefront, where they take a digital read of your eye, and instead of returning your eyes to your prescription, they actually make them 20/20. It's pretty f*#%ing awesome, especially since I cannot remember a time when I didn't have glasses. (I think I got them when I was 8.) The procedure lasted 15 MINUTES, and by the time I went to bed six hours later, my vision was already much improved. And no, it did not...

There was a boy, about 8 or 9, at the school yesterday. He was studying my work badge, which has a picture of both me now and me when I was a kid. Kinda a 'before & after' thing, so that the kids can understand that we've done all this too. Anyway, he asked me, "Is that you when you were a kid?" I replied, "Sure is. My nose got big, huh?" My standard joke response. The boy, ignoring my attempt at humor, continued with, "So why isn't it in black and white?" It was all I could do not to crack u...

Hey there everyone!
Yes yes, it is I, the great and fearless Addela. Okay, that's a load of hooey. I mean, I'm pretty cool, but I'm by no means fearless. Stupid sometimes, sure, but not really fearless. But then, I think having a certain amount of fear is to be expected. It keeps you from jumping off bridges and stuff like that.
Well, it's certainly been a while since I last wrote everyone. Sorry about that. Lots has been happening, changes are being made. I'll try to keep i...

So, while one of my NY's 'resolutions' is to be happy with my weight, my partner's is to lose weight and eat healthier. And since I'm the cook in this relationship, that means I need to learn how to make food, healthy-style.
So I'm sending out a plea for your favorite healthy recipes. Please help me expand my repetoire! If it's a link, go ahead and put it in the comments, but if it's an actual recipe, a PM would probably be better.
Thank You!

Why a Woman's College?
Documentary being put together by my old roommate Shelby. I loved going to a woman's college, and would not hesitate to encourage others to check it out. It's an experience that you can't find at any other type of school.

Randolph-Macon Woman's College's Greek Play
I helped restart this tradition, singing in the first two plays and then stage managing the third. This year is our first attempt at a comedy, always harder to put on.

Ah Addela....
I think it took me about five years to figure out how to spell her name correctly but she never held that against me.
She is an supportive and wonderful friend who understands my maddness for theater and doesn't hold it against me when we don't see each other for months due to my theater habbit.
She is beautiful, warm and squishy (you know, in that pleasant, huggable way). Someone I can really sink my teeth into (if she would let me *wink wink*).
When I think of Addela, I have to smile, because everytime we are together, I have a great time. She is a fellow taurean with a heart of gold. I feel very honored and lucky to know such a goddess (as she does tell me that all women are goddesses).
+TNT+
She is also the person who bestowed the nickname "Tanyita" unto me...many have tried to make a nickname for me but she is the only one who succeeded in doing it with my own name.

Addela is by far one of the most geniuenly cool and sincere people I have met. She's smart, charming, and has a sense of humor that makes me giggle like a little school girl at times. Wish you the best, always :)

Addela is someone I look forward to bumping into because she is one heck of a sweet person. She is unassuming, warm and caring...you just feel the love when she hugs you. We need more of her kind in this world dammit.

addela isn't going anywhere. now, i don't mean in that lack of upward mobility kind of way. i mean she exudes this solid sort of thereness. she's like that certain item, i don't know, like a flashlight, that you don't always think much about using or needing, but man, if it's gone... sheee-it. forget about it. you'll race all over the house looking for it, chicken with your head cut off. then, she'll tap you on your shoulder, have a gentle laugh at your expense, "i was right here all along." i got the distinct feeling i was going to have to pass a test of some sort to be allowed to be her friend. then i realized i was just being paranoid because i intuited the great worth of such a distinction and didn't like thinking of being denied it. and all this i-must-describe-her-with-witty-metaphor shit aside, she has amazing tits. i have even touched them. with my own. yeah, go masturbate to that bee-atches. i'm out.

Everyone loves Addela. It's impossible not to: within moments of meeting her, your mind starts creating its own thoughts like "you know, Addela is the essence of coolness", "everyone seems happier with Addela around", "she has really cool hair", and "I should empty my bank account and give the contents to Addela".
I'm highly suspicious that she might have something to do with this process. But it is futile to resist, regardless.
Love Addela! Love Addela!
