Blood Moon 2007 - Feast of the Dead!

Blood Moon is our annual party held every year around the end of October.

This years theme is "Feast of the Dead" - A voodoo theme, New Orleans style.

This event will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2007. It will feature entertainment, Hors d'ouvres, a charity raffle benefiting the Sonoran Sunrise Grove , a cutume contest and much, much more.

Come dressed in your favorite voodoo or zombie clothes and be prepared for fun filled night.

Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. The party starts at 8:00 PM.

The Black Rose Caffe is located on the east side of Stone Avenue, between Drachman and Grant across from the Wildcat house.

Fresh Home-made Tiramisu

The Black Rose Caffe makes the best Tiramisu in Tucson. We have been selling it by the piece but now we are offering it as a whole cake. It comes in a 10 x 13 pan and serves 10 to 20 people depending on serving size. It needs to be special ordered at least 2 days in advance. Belly Dancing - Thursday at the Black Rose Caffe

Beth will be at the Black Rose Caffe on Thursday, May 18 for a belly dancing "open mic". Many of the members of this tribe saw her performance at our grand opening and enjoyed it very much. We thought you'd be interested in knowing

This is an 'Open Mic" type of show. All local dancers of all experience levels are invited to come perform. This will be a friendly, informal performance venue -- great for new performers! After the performance, Beth will be teaching a short, intro belly dance class for any audience members who feel inspired!

If you're interested in performing, drop me a line... or just show up!
This promises to be great fun for all fans of belly dancing. Beth does traditional style and a more modern approach dancing to industrial music.

This is going to be great, great fun, so come join us for a great night.

Opening Day

Mariha and I drive hurriedly toward the small caffe on Stone Avenue in Tucson. It's getting late and we'd been running around taking care of all the last minute preparations. We park at the end of the lot so as to allow more parking space for our customers.
We enter the door, quickly walk through the kitchen toward the office and hang our coats.
We immediately turn on the coffee machine, espresso maker, and grinders. We set up the table on the patio, turn on the open sign, unload the groceries from the truck, and prep food in anticipation of customers. It is 4:30 PM and the Black Rose Caffe opens its doors for the very first time.
We anxiously await our first customer for a seemingly endless amount of time. but after only a few minutes the first of our customers arrived. We head to the counter and smile.
"Welcome to the Black Rose Caffe."
